I am so glad I didn't buy the ethereal portal hearthstone

This morning I was looking how much it costs on ebay

$200 average

And then seeing the new rewards today saved me $200

That being said:

Do you think TCG rewards being available as drops a good thing or ruins your value if you bought these years ago?

If you bought them legitimately when tcg was current, then it would have been relatively inexpensive from a pack of cards. In which case you probably wouldn’t care anymore.

If on the other hand, you bought them from a website selling specific tcg items after the fact, then tough patootie. You accept the risk.

Most of the people complaining here likely got their tcg items during the height of the WoD dupe exploits anyway. In which case they paid nothing for them. Especially the spectral tigers everyone loves to harp on about.

I got mine with a pack of cards, I don’t recall the cost of the pack but I’m sure it was less than $5. With that being said, it’s no big deal because I’ll just stop using it. It looks bad anyway, I only use it because so few people have it. No big deal though.

Did you almost spend it or did you see that it was coming up and then look it up on ebay?

Here we go again lol.

Virtual items have no real money value tho

I mean technically yes. They do. If you can sell the code and make money off of it? You are in fact making money on digital things.

It has no tangible value because it’s not a tangible object. Any money you spend on these things will go away the moment the servers shut down.

They are all prestige items. Which is a fancy way of saying showing off

You don’t own any of the digital items btw, people paying hundreds to effectively rent an item

The cards are the rare bit, so they can technically have collector value

I mean people can sell it for what ever you want dosent mean thats the value, the pack of cards probably cost like $5 and a single card out of those how much ?

No one tell them about EVE

I know what you mean. It’s just value is whatever people are willing to spend.

Yea and theres probably a ton of them out there on ebay meaning its not that rare and people aint buying it

It doesn’t matter if you spent ten dollars or ten thousand dollars… I think it’s weird.

It’s different if you really like it and want to use it. It falls into stupid levels if you just want to show it off and hope others dont get it

I just looked on ebay theres about 12 spectral tigers on there… how long have that mount been out and they havent sold it ? Meaning people dont wanna pay their price cuz thats not the value

That is true.

They can either lower the price or hold out for the one (twelve)

Exploiting FOMO is always bad, especially when it involves cash spent. Any cosmeticcs earned externally from in-game achievement should be frowned upon.

-dances in FOMO is bad policy-

If someone pays really money for the item, then that becomes an actual value to the person receiving the real world funds. It may not have any tangible value to anyone else.

Yea but people are not paying for those items , there are 12 spectral trigers right now on ebay cuz no one is buying them, and the mount has been out for a while meaning they been sitting on that mount for a while
