I am slowly losing interest

I am logging in less and less, when I do log in it is to raid and do some daily quests and not much else. I was thinking about what the game is lacking to me to give me a “want” to log in. Here is what I came up with:

  1. WQs offer nothing truly rewarding at all (Azerite Power is still awful at this point, the gold missions offer barely anything and the war resources are laughable)
  2. The mission table is pathetic (you don’t get rep tokens but rep bonuses, the followers are awful with bad traits and slots, the gold is too minor to care about and Azerite Power is Azerite Power)
  3. Looking at 1 and 2, since the mission board is awful why do I care to obtain war resources to just get Azerite Power, a pitiful amount of gold and the rare pet tokens. So, WQs are boring in general as they lead to a small amount of stuff that means nothing.
  4. Herbalism is bad. Herbs growing on walls, in trees and some under rocks you have a hard time picking, herbalism has actually gotten worse.
  5. Azerite Power (This was put in to replace artifact weapons which saw power each step of the way when you consumed tokens)
  6. Gear set bonuses are gone. I actually miss this as it added something to the playstyle of my characters.
  7. Removal of World quests and Mission boards that actually offered good gold (I was told they did this when legion came out from WoD so people wouldn’t feel the "need’ to go back and farm them. So, why are old raids still available to drop transmog gear and mounts?)
  8. War Front Rares farming for items (Mounts, toys and pets can only be farmed once per cycle, not once per day. After you have done the War Front bosses once, there is no need to go back for a cycle. You could farm these items every day on Argus when you ran into the rare.)
  9. The rep grind this expansion felt long. Also, why are professions patterns STILL locked behind a character’s rep instead of becoming BoA to send to alts?

The end of Legion had a strong outlook, much stronger than the beginning of it, which could have rolled over into Battle for Azeroth. People will say not to compare the end of an expansion to the beginning of another, but the systems in place are what matter and how they are handled. World quests, Mission Table, Azerite Power, Herbalism, Gear set bonuses gone and Rare hunting neutered have had an impact on my gameplay. Some of these things have had an impact on my friends that have stopped playing. Legion was building something that could have been really good if carried over correctly, but it just did not fully happen.

I find fun raiding and doing my daily caches some times to be fun. I am not big into Mythic plus. If I was I could do that nonstop. I know some people like it, it just isn’t for me. Flight is the most fun thing to me in the game and I am trying my hardest to hold out to 8.2 to get flight in hopes of it invigorating me. I have actually started taking breaks and playing my Switch for a bit as a change of pace which has been nice.

This is my opinion on where I am sitting. Everyone is entitled to theirs. Feel free to add to this if you would like or give me some ideas on how to change my viewpoints for improving my interest.

I think they saw the complaints about how the table still gave out too much stuff and other various things. Basically all their systems in legion were pretty much required to participate in in order to keep up. You were effectively poor if you did not keep up on gold missions because there were cranking out gold at an insane rate, I think I got to about 400k gold a month between my main and my alts.

I can understand the desire to not have the stuff in legion to have near the impact that it did, everything about from gold missions to legendaries, to artifact power were required to participate in if you did not want to be left behind significantly. As a result I think they figured it was best to swing them way back.

Really though they should have just discarded some of their systems and created something new but I am going to go out on a limb and guess that BFA was fairly rushed, they wanted to get it out instead of a long wait and thus they continued with modified versions of stuff we already have instead of coming up with an entirely different way to play the game this expansion.

Take a break for a bit. I am. It helps.

Cause you find everything meaningless. Lots to do but nothing worth doing.

Similar to why I’m done in May. Took a year off in WoD into Antorus. Probably doing the same in May.
