I don’t have too much to say really but it’s been a lot of fun playing this spec. I knew I was going to like evoker straight from it being a new healer which is like 90% of my play time. Healing is my favorite role because I get to help my friends and tend to their wounds.
So when someone else wants to play healer in my friends I’ll swap and let them take it but I’ve always felt out of place doing so. Watching HP bars, and various thoughts on how to help the party rather than my own DPS. Never got into parse chasing and such. I just really liked being supportive and helpful, which Augmentation does.
This spec makes me want to actively practice doing DPS role as I’m more responsible for their well being. My Obsidian Might bar is like an HP bar for me to keep alive. I get to choose all kinds of cool unique spells that are super helpful. And while it isn’t a healer this spec offers a lot of healing support. Like Blistering Scales is such a cool spell to put on people and it feels great to slap someone with an instant 200k shield when they get low.
Just so much fun and I wanna thank Blizz for trying something new for WoW and getting out of their comfort zone. If Evoker isn’t my main class for the rest of my time in this game it will always be my immediate alt.

I certainly love auggies, not only for their dps buffer’s but defensives as well.

I think Aug is a great addition to the game. I’d love to see Prescience changed into a Wyrmstone system so that you don’t have the busy-work of it, but otherwise… It’s a great change.
maybe make breath of eons feel more rewarding

In what sense? It’s incredibly powerful already no?

I did a few M+ runs today for the first time since aug dropped and it was great. Did a little bit of fooling on my own in BGs too, it’s a really interesting spec.

I think they mean is that beyond the meter you gain you don’t notice much. Which is my like the spec as a whole but with your big CDs you see 2.2k stats, 230k upheaval, all your CDs refreshed with Time Skip. You don’t really see the impact of BoE which I can see some finding it a lackluster CD because of it.
I really enjoy it too, having a spec that 99% of this playerbase has no idea if I’m performing well or not is awesome, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being carried in content so far. Hopefully we’re still far away from the logs being able to better show what Aug is doing so I can continue playing lazily and not really trying but continue to be insta invited into any group content I want.

Don’t you see the mobs lose 20% of their hp the moment it expires? I’ve been playing with them in keys all week and you really notice when breath expires because everything you’re in combat with loses a massive chunk of HP.
How would you add more visual feedback to it.

It’s not “particularly” powerful compared to most big cooldowns, but feel was the operative term. It doesn’t feel very powerful. It also kinda sucks having it be a breath-style spell, because it feels so clunky to use and can miss so easily on moving targets - but with that it is what it is.
It feels like a generic debuff you throw on and forget about. There’s no “wow” factor to it - there’s no “holy crap that hit for 800k!” moment, it just drowns out in scrolling combat text and fades away. Like it could be a SW:P, or Corruption…
There’s no big animation when it triggers, it just… does some damage, and move on. I’m not saying they should turn into Ebyssian and start flying around the room farting magic pools on people, but… Maybe some dragon-rend style claw hits on targets? Bronze-dust themed “time particles” crashing into targets? Idk.
Just feels very unrewarding to use. There’s no part of the skill that triggers the reward receptors in your brain to make you feel like it has done something notable.

If you want the numbers, play something else?
Skill expression for augmentation feels limited.
Are you literally chasing me thread to thread non-stop whining about Aug evokers? Please go away. This is bordering on harassment.
Skill expression on aug evoker is one of the highest in game to min/max to ceiling, with one of the lowest floors for mediocre performance. I get it, based on your… hundreds of mis-information related aug evoker posts - you REALLY don’t like them. That’s fine.
But you also don’t get to make the decision about their existence, and their viability… quit trying to skew everything to your personal perception.

Would appreciate a reply in that other thread.
Skill expression might be highest (debatable) but payoff, very much lacking.
Like run of the mill vs good might be 50k, but for augmentation? 20k if that.
I’m just gonna block you dude. You’ve got over 200 posts in the last 5 days whining about Aug Evoker and how you think it’s “so overpowered” and unfair… Now you’re chasing me across multiple threads berating me.
Take a break dude.

Not to side with the guy since he can absolutely be kind of insufferable, is he wrong? The spec’s doing great damage, has a tonne of aoe stops, buffs your healer, and has a CVS receipt of oh shi buttons that mitigate damage and prevent wipes.
Still waiting for a reply on that UH dk topic.
It feels like playing a healer rather than dps, it feels awful to play in pvp

then don’t play it? Not every spec has to appeal to everyone.
