I am ready for the rainbow army!

Tmog…Not a chance. I wonder how long it is going to take for someone to ask in general where the tmog vendor is.

When a majority of your gear is red, orange or yellow.

Laughs in paladin.

We used to laugh about what good fishing lures we would make.

And one more reason to stick with my plan of making a shadow priest…

I idled in Org in wearable vendor trash to just chat with people. I hope that’s a thing again!

My goodness! Look at this cutie…

Don’t forget grey quality pimp hats and diamond tipped canes!!

Yeah, I always thought TBC was the rainbow armour era, so I was confused at first. I distinctly remember hitting level 70 with my warlock and having a look that was reminiscent of that picture. I guess this was a thing in vanilla too.

Not nearly as bad as the Cataclysm-era tier gear this guy’s wearing.

(This is Narya, btw.)

Man, TBC has some horrendous looking stuff.

"Neon, Disco and Acid-tripping is no way to go through life, son."

I was always a fan of looking like I got dressed in the dark, until I realised how to turn the lights on (tmog).

Better get used to the permanent power cut again.

I’m ready for people to continue claiming transmog “doesn’t affect gameplay” when it actually does. With some exception, equipment on the auction house was always about… the equipment. Gearing up. Filling your slots or powering yourself up. Transmog completely changed that, and a best-in-slot chestpiece can go for 2g where a loincloth goes for 20000g because people like how it looks. It completely reshaped the economy in every single way.

I’m really happy to go back to a system where I can find something with a lot of stats and think wow, I bet somebody would want to buy this. That’ll be nice :frowning:

Tmog also took away the ability to determine the strength of one’s opponent.

I started to click ‘Like’ on your post and nod my head in agreement that yeah, that’s why it matters - but then I realized that even if there was Transmog (and there won’t be), people will still buy items with good stats.

Transmog would just mean people buy stuff for appearance reasons, too. It’s not the reason Vanilla-era green BoEs stopped being valuable for stats in Retail, ya know?

I think in a game like Classic it would end up both ways, which is probably fine, buuut I just don’t want that slope to start slipping. And it was mainly a response to people saying (in other, previous threads) that transmog has no impact on the game, because that’s just not right.

I gotcha, and agree with your intent.

I’m a huge fan of Transmog in Retail, but I think going without is an important aspect of Classic because it makes earning sets even more rewarding and because it lets us recognize other players for what they’re using.

I look at gear like a trophy. Tmog is like giving out participation trophies.
