I am posting here because I dunnno what else to do

I have an unique issue that the tech support forums is just not helping. Hoping a blue can give me anything to help with this problem.

I can log into classic just fine, no issues, but I cannot log into retail. This has been an issue for I would say coming up on2 weeks. I am running an Alienware Area 51 and the husband is running a new Alienware Aurora with the same problem. I have a friend in town with the same ISP, he is only running up to Dragonflight and has no issues with classic or retail. I put in a ticket and got the typical cut and paste response with links to troubleshoot, but the links to go page not found. I did find some links that did work, tried all of them, nothing helped. I had my ISP at my house, they found no issues with service or hardware.

I have deleted my WTF folder, unistalled and reinstalled the game, shut down all of my addons in game, DNS flush, looked up online to find people with a similar problem did all of the suggestions there, nothing helped.

Did this: FOR ALL PLAYERS WHO HAS SAME PROBLEM This just worked for me: Go to WoW → WTF folder and select the retail file there. Enter SET synchronizeSettings “0” in the configuration file and save Start the game and login That worked fine for me. Did not work.

I keep getting BLZ57901016 and 51900319. I get to connecting and get booted. I can reset the modem and get in for about 5-10 minutes, then get booted. The real kicker to this, after posting in groups outside of Blizzard, was a network engineer telling me to run on WiFi…and that works. But I have been PvPing and get booted alot because well, Wifi is not so good for PvP. But I can log in and stay in on the WiFi. Been playing 20 solid years and have never had an issue until recent. I dunno what else to do, but I have narrowed it down to something in a patch from TWW causing this. Any help would be appreciated. My husband tried doing things on his PC to fix the problem, but has messed it up so bad he cannot even get into Battlenet. Send help!

Edited because this forum will not let me reply to anyone:

I talked with my friend that can run the game in town, but like I said, he is only up Dragonflight, does not have TWW and we are running the same modem. He can get into both retail and classic fine. I am ruling out a cable as the husband has the same problem.

Don’t have a router and was plugged directly to the modem. But if I go WiFi I can get into game fine, it is just unstable.

Edit again, called the ISP again, have the most current modem they have. Signal is fine. Everything works fine when hard wired, except logging into retail, can still get into and play classic fine, no issues. Can run the game on WiFi but it is so unstable, it is hit or miss if I get to play…

I posted this in customer support to see if a blue could help and this was put back in tech forums…what do I have to do to get someone at Blizz to see this?

This isn’t the same as a full UI reset.

Rename and/or move the WTF, Addons and Cache folders to a different drive/or folder completely.

The game will re-create these when you log in again.

Also, shutdown the battle.net launcher, then run it as administrator (right click, run as administrator), if you aren’t already.

It’s really interesting that you’re both encountering issues with your hardwired connection but something different with your wifi.

Are you able to identify your NIC chipset? While Dell provides drivers, those drivers are often out of date and you may have better luck utilising drivers available direct from manufacturer.

Alternately, if you’re utilising some common hardware and are using Dell’s drivers, you may be able to just remove Dell’s drivers and rely on Windows’ standard driver package. I’d make sure you have a copy of the NIC driver on your machine ready to install just in case though.

Additionally, I’d try to run a tracert to your datacenter and ask your friend to do the same to verify you’re both on the same route, and also run a ping test (1k attempts should be good) to see if there’s any loss.

Finally, constant wifi drops should also be looked into… not enough information here to make any sort of suggestion, but often times something like what you’d described is environmental.

First, I recommend updating your PC’s drivers, especially your graphics and network drivers. Outdated drivers can cause connection issues.

Next, try performing a hard reset on both your modem and router. Most modems and routers have a reset button that you need to press and hold for about 10-15 seconds. Alternatively, you may be able to reset them through the device’s settings interface.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, and if you have separate modem and router devices, try connecting your PC directly to the modem (bypassing the router) to check if the connection stabilizes. This can help determine if the router is causing the problem.

Since you’re having the issue when wired, maybe it’s something as simple as a bad ethernet cable. Have you tried running a new cable?

Edit: I looked up both of those error codes and they’re just codes that indicate you’ve disconnected from the service. I would also consider a bad router.

You said one of you were on a laptop?

Can you take said laptop to a friend’s house to connect to their Internet to see if it causes the same issue? Might help narrow down the problem.

We are both on PC. I will ask my friend tonight about his service and I think I will call tonight about a new modem. Thanks all, I work graves and headed to bed.
