Observations: Mechanically, the game is sound. It’s just that there’s more to an MMORPG than game systems that promote character progression.

Without a consistent community of people to play with, servers feel sterile. Yeah, there are people out there, but they might as well be bots. Characters mean less and less as the years have gone by and have become replaced by account wide achievements and “stuff.”

There is too much fluidity in what is supposed to be a persistent world. No continuity. Players are just buying into a variety of game modes nowadays, and not a world in which to play. At one time, you logged in, and felt part of something. Not anymore. Now, you could buy the game, boost and be grinding for gear in no time. There’s no sense of paying your dues. No appreciation for how we got here. It’s all so superficial. The devs have done a fine job of making their MMORPG into a series of revolving doors and gameshow contestants.

My guild gave up raiding two weeks after the first raid opened. We all realised that we needed to get off the treadmill. We had been running it non stop since WoD for most people. MoP for others and further back for more still.

Theres a long post that better describes how I feel about the game. I dont feel like my effort is worth anything anymore, its just a constant cycle of Blizz throwing new systems at us to see what works and then never sticking with it.

Timeless Isle was one of the greatest bits of end of expansion content they had released and for what ever reason they have constantly butchered it from what it was and turned it into the abortion that was Argus.

Yes, I will be back. No, it wont be when the raid opens. It will likely be at the end of the expansion when it is finally a “complete” product.

Blizzard need to stop making the content be instantly outdated the moment a new patch comes out. New raids should supplement us with what we have, not make it obsolete.

The miniquests to skip bosses that some of the previous raids had, they need more of those, so when a new raid comes out you can grind the new one, unlock the ability to skip bosses then choose which bosses you want to down each week to try and get the gear you want and make a unique build… but that would require tier sets and stats to be more than just “I need strength” “I need int”
