I am done, the new moderation is out of control

I received a 24 hour ban on these new forums for using the word “[Edited by Blizzard]”. A word Blizzard freely uses in one of their own properties. It was overturned and I received a nice enough note from a Blizz employee that the moderator had overreacted. Seriously? The new format is bad enough, but the moderation is beyond dumb.

You got it overturned, calm down.

That, and it’s worth noting that the word with no context doesn’t tell us much. It may well be that the context is what prompted the action originally and not simply the word being used.

Sounds like they added a new moderator.

It’s great that they acknowledged it was an overreaction on their part and overturned your suspension. Honestly, I really wouldn’t worry too much about this. If this is the first report we’re receiving of “draconian moderation,” I think we’re in a good spot so far.

I’m all for following the rules but some consistency is missing here.

Actually they have woken up to fans backlash to Diablo news and negativity on bfa and now they are finding ways to silent their customers which in turn will make more people leave the game .

Lol I’ve never had any of my forum bans overturned. Even ones I appealed multiple times. Feels bad. Good for you though, they acknowledged that they made a mistake and overturned it. That’s something.

These forums are still awful though.

Eh. I remember getting a 3 day suspension because I had the audacity to logically destroy one of the MVP’s. Judging by the amount of likes my posts got at the time, I wasn’t alone in my opinion. No trolling or anything. Just reasoned argument.

Now I don’t dare say anything ‘controversial’ and have put the issue MVP’s on ignore. Especially now that the mods are even more ban happy.

Mods have always been like this. I remember back in WoD days I made a few posts about being super dissatisfied with the “Log in, do chores, log out” levels of boring the game had. 3 day ban. Wasn’t even a total phallus about my discontent either.
