I am a streamer, Face the Simple Truth; I deserved Beta, you didn't

I think they reserved their alts just for Hellfire Peninsula. The angry tirades…SMH

I am so glad you made a topic about this
I don’t think anyone has ever talked about streamers on this forum and I say it’s time for a change!

Agreed. This will also keep the huge problem that exists in other games where the more toxic streamers have fanbases who harass anyone who kill them.

I mean seriously, anyone who wants to play on the same server as a major streamer has never been unfortunate enough to kill one in any other game, or even WoW. You get spammed with death.

They shouldn’t be there for ANYONES enjoyment. It’s a beta test, not a private party. Streamers should have to wait till the later phases when the main wave of bugtesting is done. There are two big scenarios where you shouldn’t be in this phase of a beta.

1.) If you’re a streamer and you’re focusing on your community over testing for bugs.

2.) You’re upset you didn’t get into beta because you just wanted to play Classic.

BUG TESTING IS ALL THAT MATTERS. Blizzard doesn’t need to promote classic, it’ll do that on it’s own just by existing. It already has.

Streamers that play as a job are the best to test bugs. They play the most, expose themselves to the most content, and create the most opportunity to run into bugs. Not rocket science.

I love it when the jealousy is this transparent.

The amount of animosity towards streamers on these forums is laughable. Watch or don’t watch, but enough with the pointless hate-threads.

Depends on if the ugly ones choose to stream on a pvp realm or not; huh?

Who’re they going to use instead? You?

Did asmonggold make fun of your main or something?

Let’s assume, for a moment, that it is just an act. The fact is, that doesn’t really matter, because people see streamers get away with behaving this way and thus believe that it is acceptable behavior, or at the very least that Blizzard won’t do anything about it.

It’s just another one of the many reasons the player-base in WoW, and in Blizzard games in general, is so toxic.

It’s the inevitable results of giving fame to people who grew up as shut in losers, they get extremely egotistical.

Just want to echo this: Asmongold is very friendly. Met him at BlizzCon last year. He actually showered and didn’t smell unpleasant. He was holding a large soda from McD’s, but oh well. Asmongold is one of the most dedicated WoW fans I’ve interacted with (nearly 10 years of feedback specifically for WoW). He loves WoW, he just really hates BFA because it doesn’t suit him. The game changed, and he doesn’t like that fact. Many people who are planning on Classic are like that. They don’t hate WoW, they just want a game better suited to their playstyle.

Yeah, sure, watching a second stream, listening to music and constantly talking to someone is the best way to notice bugs. Yep, totally convinced me. /s

Fact is, they won’t because they really DON’T care. That’s why trade chat has the same people dropping bigoted or R rated comments in chat and the person is back the next day still running their mouth. It’s why there’s so many clips of streamers such as Asmongold insulting people on their stream and blizzard not giving a crap. It’s why “Report ongoing harassment” is hidden behind two drop downs and “Report a player” brings you to a non interactive screen on how to right click a name.

Blizzard doesn’t care about how players act as long as the numbers stay up. I’m a blizzard fan, I always will be but damn if they don’t make it hard to love the company sometimes.

Then don’t love the company.

You don’t need to love the company to enjoy any of its titles.

Eh, I think Blizzard does care, even if only because the behavior of their player-base has started to affect the bottom line, as well as the company’s reputation. But the thing is, I don’t think Blizzard understands why their player-base is so toxic; not only were they too lenient for too long, but that they practically encourage such behavior through the way the devs sometimes behave at BlizzCon, as well as coddling streamers to the point of overturning bans when they misbehave. Blizzard apparently never grasped the concept of leading by example.

There are also game design choices that have contributed, of course, but that is a totally different discussion.

I’m confused what you mean by Asmongold abusing reports? He said he baits people into saying something inappropriate and then will report them. That falls on the person who is actually saying something TOS.

I thought you were going to show him asking his viewers to all report a single person or something.

I’ve seen Soda report bugs, I think he makes for a decent classic beta tester.

Yeah, a lot of these guys are simply using the game for views & blizzard is using them for marketing, but you can’t lump them all into the same pile.

Ill be signing up as long as i can gank streamers repeatedly

Madseason Is respectable though he doesn’t walk around with a hundred people following him being dicks.
