Hey guys/gals
I was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose and/or fix a problem. For the past week or so my PC just randomly goes blue screen. Starting from the top…what should I check first? Right now I’m running a memory check for errors. That’s as far as I’ve gotten.
It seems to be intermittent. Doesn’t necessarily happen when I’m doing anything specific.
Like for example, I just came home from work and my PC was locked up at the blue screen. Nothing had been done on the PC while I was at work.
EDIT: Still waiting for the memory check to finish, I’m beginning to wonder if RAM is starting to fail.
EDIT 2: Memory check didn’t find any errors, but I was able to write down what the BSOD said: “Unexpected Store Exception”
Have you updated any drivers/windows updates recently? If so, see if you can roll them back. If not, I would update your drivers & windows. On the hardware side since your RAM seems to be “OK” (I would also recommend running one stick at a time to see if you can replicate the issue) I would check the hard drive next.

Ok great, thanks. How do I specifically check the hard drive?
And yeah about a week or so ago windows 10 did do an update. I seem to recall the issue starting around that time as well.
I tried to do a windows update earlier today and it got to about 80% and the same BSOD popped up. Same phrasing as well, unexpected store exception.
Thanks! I’m running them now.

I would roll back the windows update. You can use crystaldiskinfo to check your hard drive
Thanks a lot for all the help, I ran all the tests and everything was fine. So I rolled back windows. Problem seems to be fixed. No more BSOD’, my PC did not like that new update they just came out with a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks again!
