My win rate as alliance has been about 10%. Which, don’t get me wrong, is terrible, but, contrary to assertions I see people making all the time, alliance does win some. I actually had 2 wins in a row as a solo queuer a week or two ago.
Yeah it has to be rough for alliance. I’m on an approximately 70 game win streak. I don’t think the map imbalances are large enough to cause that so there must be more going on, but it’s unquestionable the proximity of IB to the Horde cave gives us an advantage.

Battlegrounds, specifically AV should be fun but it’s dreadful on both sides. Alliance because they never win a game and horde because they win but have to wait 2 hours or so. What a disaster

The simple explanation is Alliance win that 1/10 matchup where the horde are absolute trash and get wiped 3-5 times in FoS. The games I’m getting on my mage alt, 60% of the time horde are starting the cap on SF by the time we get to SH.
Often times while we’re trying to push out of SH to attempt a SF cap/contest a horde (not always a rogue) starts back capping DB towers making people recall to deal with it.
and yea the botters, afk-ers and harpy farmers that still show up every game don’t help but we’re not even getting a chance to push out of SH most games; at least the morning crews manage to hold SH for 20-35 minutes now, but we eventually get pushed off due to it being Flankable.
was doing this on horde at 56+ lvl, between queues i was grinding slugs in plaguelands and on AV i was grinding gnolls in a cave

Maaaaayybe 1/20 at most.
That’s because the group of horde that loses an AV isn’t just (collectively) trash at PvP, they are for whatever reason the absolute bottom of the barrel of PvP players, class comp, macro/micro decision making, etc. all at the same time. It’s usually pretty obvious when one side completely outclasses the other. In AB, that results in a 5 cap in minutes (tip of the hat to the Earthfury horde in last night’s AB stomp). In AV, if you are alliance, that gives you hope that you might win if everything goes your way.

If u want AV rep and on my region just go to AV 1.
Horde in AV just have to be barely competent and turtle up near SH to win. Wait it out, get SF to double the GY rez, kill SH bunker and some LTs, farm up items to summon the ice lord, then push with it. It’s a very conservative, no-brain strategy. If alliance push anywhere horde just pivot and harden up that area, then resume the turtle.
That’s it, no need for them to be amazing at it. They’ll only lose if they are very bad or deviate from that plan without being super at PVP.

I got exalted with AV back when alliance where premading and got there with 0 wins. Havnt actually gone back into AV since lol
