Most of the bad stuff is just stuff blizzard is forcing on us like layers and crbg. not even a honeymoon period without CRBG, it’s like robbery of that experience to appease goofy retail players who need instant queues instead of quality queues.
Nameless, faceless masses and forgettable experiences has been wows MO for years.

Did they really? Doesn’t seem like it’s the case since they’re planning to sell us classic with sharding that’s going to be there for a very loosely defined period of time if not indefinitely.
Pretty sure they said something about layering only been active for a short while and will most prob not be in the first few zones to handle the influx of players jumping on to play in the first few weeks
Nope, entire world is sharded, the plan was apparently to create a few servers with the same name and then merge them together. At least that’s how he explains it. The reality which we see on streams is basically the very same BfA sharding already abused by streamers, nothing else.

A blue can post one sentence response to problems the community argues about for hundreds of posts in multiple threads, and crowds of players will champion the blue’s response and parrot it for weeks and months every time the issue comes up.

This is a community of hopes and dreams. Even if Classic launches poorly, has thousands of bugs and changes, has broken pvp, has broken pve and raiding progression, and has a broken economy that makes D3’s RMAH look preferable, there will still be people towing the blue anchor thru the mud of these forums saying “things’ll be better soon! Just keep subbing.”
It’s kind of beautiful.
They seriously need to fix Stormwind Keep though. Half its exterior model is missing.
Classic is just like any modern WoW expansion with the hype at this point.
It will also fade out as time goes on after release, just like every modern Blizzard game does.
Classic will have its niche audience that will continue to play it and defend it, but it will be just that, a niche.
It’s a fun game for some (including me), but it won’t be the massive success it was over a decade ago.

Imma say no, because the creator of nostalrius was an Ex-blizz employee, The Devs wanted it as much as we did most likely.
The BG think has me up in the air. If I had to pick between 1.5 AV and CRBG, I’d take the AV.
I can see it both ways tho.

They literally said layering will be turned off before phase 2.
They never once mentioned zones before that was the community jumping to conclusions.
They said that they hoped to have it off by a few weeks to a month after launch. However what ever happens it will be off by phase 2.
Funny-- those interviews were done the same day. It’s just two different sets of devs talking. So the discrepancy isn’t about a decision being changed after a period of time had elapsed as you imply. It looks more like there is no way for them to say with any certainty when they’ll be able to turn the layering off, so one set of devs decided to be more conservative with their estimate than the other. Personally, waiting months until Phase 2 to begin seems excessive to me.

Go check out the Classicast with the Ex-wow devs, the ex-head of level design or something along those lines delivered the petition for nostalrius in person because he believed in the project and supported it with 2 other programmers.

Yeah no, Kern didn’t work on Nostalrius. He just supported the petition.
