This statement is pretty ironic given that your source is…an echo chamber LOL! I have no opinion on whether there is hype for TBC or not and honestly don’t really care. I am just here for the #popcorn.
Blizzard could release TBC with boosts, trading card gear, transmog and wallet sized pics of Bobby added to everyone’s bags and 95% of the people would still play, if not more.
The hype is not dead, you just overthunk things. If you have already thought of everything for TBC, then actually playing it’s an afterthought. What’s there to get excited about when you know everything that will happen?
I’m cautiously looking forward to TBC. My alts are ready, my TBC main is still 56. I have so much gold farming to do.
It’s actually pretty simple how a boost can make people not want to play.
Let’s say you’re in a race there’s a group of people that have already completed the race and that’s fine they’re done but you’re in the second group to race.
So you’re standing next to a guy and he hands the ref 50 bucks and the ref lets him go 3 quarters of the track ahead of you before the race starts. You don’t have money to pay to get on an even level with the guy who is also in the race now. Do you still wanna race?
People that have played classic and got to 60 Deserve to be ahead and I’m 100% for that people that are starting “just for TBC” should start on an even playing field.
They are, the boost is available to everyone
I know and that’s part of the stupid part that proves Blizzard just wants money remember they said it’s for “People who want to play TBC with their friends who played Classic and got to 60”
The people that have 60’s can play with their friends. Why do they need to buy a 58? They don’t Blizzard just wants money.
Why? What makes us more special than anyone else?
And your race analogy really boils down to gunning it at a stop light to show me how fast your car is as you leave me in your dust, ONLY to get stopped at the same red light we both pull up to.
Please stop gate keeping and trying to justify elitist behavior.
It’s a one time, one per account boost to 58 for crying out loud.
They’re people who simply don’t care about 1-58. There’s no harm in letting them skip it in the context of TBC, if they wanted to play that they would have done so sometime over the last years and a half.
So it’s pretty much a win win for everyone.
Honestly? My hype for TBC has been a roller coaster. Do I want to play TBC? Yes, it was the expansion that I started to raid, and played more often compared to vanilla. If anything, it’s people wanting it to be released ASAP. And we’ve seen what happens when things get rushed, looking at you cyberpunk2077. I didn’t fall for the hype, has great elements, was just unfinished and they needed time, something the players wouldn’t give them.
Yes but leveling isn’t a race lol especially at this stage in the game. The guy is posting from a level 60 character.
Your analogy only is true if this boost was offered at the beginning of classic, not tbc.
This is not an actual argument and I won’t justify you with a comment because I don’t even have a 60 on classic I’m leveling on it now to make gold so I can have some gold for my Draenai.
I disagree 100% this is not a win win for everyone. Vanilla-Cata are insanely different games to what wow is currently. You can start at max in WoW and learn your class in a matter of seconds in Vanilla-Cata you actually needed to look at talent trees and read your abilities most of which is lost on people who will be buying a boost.
You’re right it’s not a race but it’s demotivating for people who don’t buy the boost. If the boost was so important why wouldn’t they give it to everyone for free? It’s simply to make Blizzard money.
Wrong. Here is what ACTUALLY was said.
I know there’s a lot of my friends, for example, who maybe didn’t really play Classic when it first came out, and so now they’re behind. And they’re interested in playing the Burning Crusade. This was, for a lot of people, their favorite expansion that we’ve done.
We want to make sure that those people are served too, and one of the ways we can do that is provide a boost to people who are interested in coming back, but maybe aren’t interested in doing the Classic WoW experience, but want to hope right in to Outlands as quickly as possible.
Patrick Dawson
Ah my bad it’s for people without friends as well. My bad.
Boosting has nothing to do with Cata, it wasn’t added until WoD.
And no the boost never started you at max level, it always started you at the entry point for the current expansion. Which for TBC is 58 as that’s the minimum to enter Outlands.
And sorry but no learning a class in classic is not that hard, especially since classic primarily has people who have already played. There aren’t swarms of new players coming into TBC Classic, and even if there were picking up a completely new class doesn’t take more than a few minutes.
You need to re-read that and then listen to him talking about it again.
You are SOOO way off base and quoting things that have been edited to fit YOUR narrative that it’s obvious you are simply wishing to troll.
What does GTA RP have to do with TBC hype? TBC isn’t out yet, those people as far as i know don’t play WoW except for Esfand which from my understanding is still looking forward to TBC
How is it demotivating? This actually makes no sense at all. You have the end level character already. If you chose to level another character up SPECIFICALLY because you want to level again, what about that makes it demotivating if someone chooses to purchase this ONE TIME boost on their account?
It actually makes zero sense. This is like a millionaire saying it’s demotivating to open a new business because someone got a stimulus check lol.
And if you don’t want to level another character, then the boost is available for you to get yourself anyway. Tbc doesn’t have a box price after all, so treat it like your box price if you really want it that bad.
The act of making it free doesn’t change anything for anyone, if you want the boost you ar going to get it. If you don’t then you won’t and you’ll level yourself.
When I hear these bad faith compliants the only thing I hear is “I want the boost I just don’t want to pay for it so I’m going to make up some nonsense to get rid of it”.
Boosts started in Pandaria. I said Vanilla-Cata because that’s when the talent trees actually were more complex than what retail has. Sure Cata nerfed them but Pandaria ruined them completely.
You’re going to believe whatever you say regardless of my argument so does it even matter what I respond with?
Ah the classic “I DISAGREE WITH YOU SO YOU’RE A TROLL”
Got it no actual argument I’ll choose to ignore all you say from now on.
I’m still hyped for TBC C and so are my friends. We’re also hyped for WotLK C for that matter…
Sure, there are things I don’t agree with, but nothing that’s going to stop me enjoying the game.
This 100% this, i went on a private server where everyone can teleport wherever you want, insta-level to 60 and get any piece of gear you want. I did this on a warrior since the class i knew best at the time was mage (still is) aaaaand i was completely lost in what to do, I gave up after 10 minutes cause i needed to read every ability and talents to get an idea of what to do.
This is why i think when someone wants to level a class they at least level to 30-40 get those abilities and know what they do. That way, you aren’t fumbling clueless [insert class]
