Hello Guys,
I need help / advise here… I’ve been leveling thru Hyjal to unlock the spirit beast phase where i could tame those ones. So, finally I could reach the Hyjal invasion questline, and after completing few of them I spotted Banthalos at Grove of Malorne. But he kept one shoting me with his moonlight spell, and I couldn’t get him.
So, I decided to switch the timeline to present to out-level zone, but then he got phased out, so I had to switch to Cata timeline again, and now I am stuck as he would keep one shoting me and I cant get him., so, any other option I can try w/o getting killed?
PS: Do we need to switch to cata timeline everytime if we want these spirit beasts in Hyjal?
EDIT: Got Ankha in the process so some positive things came along

Did you try popping Aspect of the Turtle right before you tame? Macro it in a castsequence with tame beast so you waste as little of it as possible and it should last through the whole tame.
Also, another thing to try might be Scare Beast (but I don’t know if that will fail due to target losing focus on you or running out of range).
It was way back when Cata was live that I tamed Banthalos and I can remember it being a pretty close thing, but unfortunately I can’t remember the method I used, sorry.

Thanks for info man. I just wan to know, does these spirit beasts show-up in cata timeline only, or we can tame those in present timeline. I am done with all questing for hyjal now, so I hope they would show-up as I move to SL
One of those sprint beasts you had to be tamed naked or he one shots.
Try removing all your clothes and taming it.
Look at me giving bad advice. I sincerely apologize. Aspect of the turtle perhaps? I did the tame so long ago. Also Petopia has direct links to wowhead. The comments section should point you in the right direction.
both of them are this way, get naked, tame.
As far as timeline goes once you unlock the area to portal into the instance of firelands you will always be able to see these cats if they are up. There are also some cool rares in the instance. A spider, and crab and a non spirit cat.
Banthalos is the owl. Not the 2 cats (1 green and 1 blue). The nekkidness wont help.
He is tameable as long as you have the area open. Phasing is your enemy there. He just wasnt up in the other phase.
Try trapping if you can. Or wait till you get a few more levels.
