how does a level 60 go back to hyjal and do cata quests? have one for call of the world shamon but i cant get it back to cata, chromie just tells me icecrown needs me !!!
does the squish mean we can no longer go back and do the areas we missed levelling up??
Go to chromie at the orgrimmar embassy, and select change timeline, select Cataclysm. If I recall the quests for Hyjal start with the Tauren area of Orgrimmar
You can’t activate Chromie time after level 50, sometimes not past level 48 due to the SL intro kicking you out of the dialogue (although some players could click fast enough as a workaround). You can either level several lower level alts through old storylines with Chromie, lock one alt’s XP to do them so you stay at-level until you’re done, or you can go back and do any of them at 60 and just one-shot everything.

You can do it at 60, but it will only scale to level 35. (So you’ll destroy everything.) Make sure you have trivial quest tracking activated.
Be aware that if your character never did the BfA intro, that can mess with the Cataclysm starting quests, so you’ll want to go ahead and do that up until you get the “Welcome to Zandalar”/“Come Sail Away” achievements.
To start Hyjal you can pick up the starter quests for Hyjal from the Warchief’s Command/Hero’s Call board. You may have to pick up some of the other quests from the board to unbury the Hyjal one (and then abandon the extras.)
sucks i am bored with levelling have done over 20 toons, and sick of the dailys and weeklys on the 60s so decided to go back on some toons and just do the areas they missed as i levelled them, obviously i am alt mad, its quite frustrating how the squish has stuffed up some of the old parts of the game, the toon i am doing it on is ali, and sw chromie gives no choice, i have been playing a long time so not doing it for achives i have all the old areas done on other toons just bored so looking what toons missed what and then doing them and this the second i find cant do the quests

I can relate to this lol. As an alternative solution, you can level in old areas above 50 if you party sync with someone who is lower, or create a second account to party with, however it wouldn’t help much with finishing areas, as that partied character would have to have the same amount of progress in the zone. You’d be locked out of what they haven’t done with the sync option. But if may be helpful if you want to level outside Shadowlands above 50.
am not levelling my toons are levelled i am going back to do old content because dailys and weeklies quickly became boring, i do most solo so only done dungeons that came with a quest , and as before we had choice where we levelled lots of my toons missed cata or outlands etc, so to relieve boredom went back to do them now and basically cant do the cata ones as chromie has lost the plot because cant turn cata back once over 50
