The above world quest in Thaldraszus is bugged. Choosing a waterwalking shoe makes the extra action button appear briefly, but then disappear. I cannot use the shoes to walk across the water.
Also, I can’t figure out how to get the fish. If you’re supposed to just right-click interact with them, then that’s bugged, too.
EDIT:: For those who come here later:
Choose the green shoe. If the button disappears immediately, or allows you to hit it but doesn’t then change to a net, right-click to remove the buff from your buff list, then choose the green shoe again and it should work.
Choosing the blue shoe was bugged when I posted, and I haven’t had the opportunity to check it again.
EDIT:: World quests reset late on December 9th and this came up, still bugged. edit to the edit:: the blue shoes are bugged even worse than before

After experimenting for ages, this worked for me:
Take any of the shoes and get the “Wearing Watergliders” buff.
Click off the “Wearing Watergliders buff.”
Take the green shoes.
Talk to the npc right next to the shoes.
Profit.
This has worked for me, hope it also works for you.

If your shoes aren’t turning into the net/not making you speed around the lake, just leave the area and re-enter. Leaving the area entails flying far enough away to where you no longer have the extra action button. Once it’s gone, fly back and pick up another pair of shoes and they should work as intended. That’s what worked for me, hopefully it helps you.

This quest is still bugged as of December 9th late-night world quest reset.
Yeah got annoyed at this quest. Had to fiddle around until I got the right skimmers and the net to appear.
This is still bugged, just noting here for others that flying out of the area, and not flying into the world quest but walking on mount did solve the issue for me.
I dismissed my pets, relogged, flew out and returned and finally went to the Watergliding Instructor at 54, 38. Choosing the blue waterwalkers failed to show the net Extra Ability - BUG.
This worked for me. I MOUNTED - which totally dismissed the Extra Ability that hadn’t gone away before, and chose the green watergliders. That gave me the little boat Extra Ability and then changed to the Net. Once you get on the water and going, it lasts for several seconds. You can then hit that button again and jump to get on top of the water to Net more fish.
TERRIBLY BUGGED - fix it plz. We should not have to perform all these contortions and cartwheels to complete a quest. Hunters and Warlocks shouldn’t have to dismiss pets!

Dont touch the blue ones. I choose blue and had to fly away a little for the button to disappear. After that I grabbed the green ones and it worked.
If you are only going to have a couple of world quests you’d think they would actually test and/or fix the damn thing. GG Blizz on another annoying and broken quest…

I am a mage. I got the blue ones to let me walk on water, but no net button. when I was omw back to the quest giver I blinked and it crashed. I tried multiple times. IT seems to only be when close to the quest guy. I could blink out on the water without issue.
