Hello everyone, Im hoping to find a nice mix of low damage and decent healing for cross healing in pvp.
We are a WPvP guild mostly, but have been doing some bgs as well.
I dont want to be defenseless, and would like the small option of killing someone solo, as well as the ability to throw offheals.
I currently play shadow priest, but with broken game mechanics (coming out of shadow form, doesn’t work half the time, without a separate macro) and the amount of mana the shift takes, I dont feel is a great hybrid pvp toon.
I would like to hear suggestions from those who have played one or the other, in PvP only, not interested in pve.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Druid you can 1v1 but it’s long fights so help comes fast in bgs. You also have to avoid class’s like s priests and locks.
Ele shaman is however quite good at killing and healing. The burst gos well with Ms wars it’s quite absurd but you are vulnerable to getting killed yourself as you’re a huge threat. Tremor and poison cleanse totems are very underrated tremor totem takes zero prep time vs the 2.5min of FW buff time for 5 players is huge in bgs as it’s fast pace. Poison cleanse totems are handy for rouges/hunters and they save your global CD in big fights For heal/dmg
TLDR imo horde sleep on shamans way too much and ele gets better.
Druids can survive a bit longer but escape vs orc warriors/rouges can be tough as roots break easy and they only need a few hits when you’re not in bear. Stun root run isn’t very viable for alliance it’s more nature’s grasp get smacked/stun and maybe die.
Played druid in both classic and vanilla. Raided tbc resto sham PvP as ele
Great feed back, thank you.
What are the hard counters for an Ele Shaman?
Sounds like ele Shaman might be better for pvp?
Can they heal half decent with a ele/resto build? By Decent, I mean survive with it and heal others and make a difference?
In terms of being a caster/healer hybrid, you must choose shaman.
Remember, a druid will need to shift forms, and you will get reamed in caster form in pvp as a druid becauses you won’t have boomkin for the armor bonus.
A shaman can always have mail and shield.
Edit: Holy paladin in all plate/shield with only +spellpower (shockadin) is also a valid choice, alliance side.
Well ele is a bit different of a play style as you get punched a lot but can turn around and dunk them. (I would say they feel like the slow chars in fighting games) you do lots of fake casting as your heals and dmg are nature as you bide time for a window to burst.
So heavy control class’s like mage/lock/rouge can be counters.
Don’t sleep on Priest tri spec and a discipline/ shadow hybrid . Priest has alot of fun talent builds in PvP. Check out dannygaming on YouTube. Primarily shadow but he does have some hybrid spec videos in there.
Ele/Resto is insanely fun though I’m noy going to lie to yah.
