You are correct! I think retail went with the idea of None should be.
But what you may have missed is that I lean the opposite of retail.
One of my biggest disappointments when I came back to WoW during legion was how they destroyed the Talent trees.
I could no longer mix and match but was forced into one tree all the way. Maybe that is better for balance, but I want room for infinite build possibilities.
Must have classic talent tree style versatility. So… everyone is Hybrid
Can somebody tell me why WoW players of every type have this particular learning disability where they act like the character someone is posting on is the only character they have and have ever had?
Hybrid is being able to perform multiple duties at the same time. Warriors in every single version of the game beyond watered down 1.12 classic pve can either tank or dps but not both. You’re either a dps or a tank. A druid has always been able to throw heals, support, deal damage, and in that same watered down 1.12 patch a feral druid can go bear and also be another tank without issue.
Hybrid status has been watered down significantly in retail. Nobody thinks a feral druid is a hybrid because they can throw 4 heals and go oom now. Doesn’t change the fact that druid as a whole is STILL busted thanks to utility they were granted as part of being a hybrid 20 years ago never being removed when blizzard dropped the hybrid tax philosophy. I’m going to double down now. Every time rdru/boomie are S tier the game is worse for their status.
It’s facts though. Boomie S tier? RBG comps devolves into who brings more boomies. M+ devolves into caster comps and mass pulling to take advantage of their utility (typhoon to limit tank damage, uncapped strong aoe, etc).
Rdru S tier? RBG’s become cancer because you can never kill the rdru, all their healing is instant cast hots so you don’t even interact with their healing. They just do it and then sit in bear and laugh at your pathetic damage.
I stopped at RBG 1600 in legion because of how much I hated trying to deal with rdru and in SL only pushed through to 1800 (for the mogs) because I had a friend forming the groups and getting me a spot. I hated S1 boomie and legion rdru. I still hate them.
Yep, whenever I would watch the front page games going on every team had 3 Boomkins and my bro was saying if you don’t stack them you can’t win at the top.
Personally boomkin is the one spec in wow I despise the most. I hate it. I think the people who play it are weird and I wish it never existed
I just wish they’d pick a lane man. Either they have all of druids insane utility access or they get uncapped god aoe, no more of having both and solid ST dps. I play warrior and I have to accept being mid at ST and AoE or I get nerfed the next patch while bringing none of the util.
Depending on how long it takes them to make C+ I may never even see what they do to make it trash lmao.
MoP is the xpac I’ve been sticking it out for since like mid-wrath. I just wanna enjoy the tanking again, vibe on arms a bit, maybe dip into some arms/ww 2’s. And then finally put this game down. I’m definitely not going to WoD and after seeing how annifresh went I’m not interested in another round of that. So we’ll see I guess. Inb4 MoP ends I go become an era player because I still can’t quit this awful game after 20 years.
And that’s a very fair point and one I won’t refute. But we know good and well that a priest can choose to spec into shadow with the explicit intent of DPSing as opposed to Holy/Discipline to heal. It has the ability and a spec to heal. It has the ability and a spec to DPS. By his/her/its definition, a hybrid.
Correct, the above poster was just pointing out that Priest is a class known in many if not all games to be the defacto healing class. Not that I am partaking in this argument at this level. In fact most classes that are known to be either buffd/debuffs like a bard, or a paladin or whatever are all kind of the same in their games. paladins for example are known as the tanky crusader that heals and protects, they are never referenced as savage barbarians like warriors
