Hybrid Tax in classic, should it stay that way in classic+

PvP is fun and fine. It’s just different than other xpacs in that it’s balanced around group environments where other xpacs less so

It’s the current newest pvp structure that’s in shambles.

But this thread is about classic+ and they have their chance to make something good and it’s actually really easy to do so since classic doesn’t have a million nuances to take into consideration like say maybe retail does.

But they won’t do that

Healers also don’t want a healing spec for solo content, same for a tank.

I hear the hybrid tax exists then I see paladins and druids doing over 1k dps and realize its a meme.

Even ele shams and shadow priests are breaking 1k dps on fights in BWL

the problem is thats their peak at its highest on very lopsided and not at all emblematic of the regular player or what they are capable of or their raid they would need to do so.

sure when fights last like 10-30 seconds everyone is gonna be able to get off like 2-3 spells and it looks even but when the fights last longer than that in aq -naxx it will really show the limitations caused by mana issues/aggro issues/scaling issues/ect.

if everyone in the raid did 1k dps you would kill patchwerk in right at 2 minutes btw

yet over the course of 2 mins they wont be doing 1k dps.

thats the point.

to put it further, when they run out of mana at the minute mark what do you think happens to their dps?

Rets are still doing 800-1k dps on 2m patchwerk fights on era

tell me, what are warriors rogues and mages doing on those same fights?

also a pally in an undead instance will do a bit more dps. who knew?

So warriors are top dps despite being a hybrid, and the hybrid classes do enough damage to kill patchwerk in under 3 minutes, sounds like hyrbid tax isn’t real

lol you diddnt answer the question.

and a follow up to that when you answer.

with that difference you still think it doesnt exist?

hybrid tax aside if they balance classic+ numbers to match era PvE i wont play classic+\

but we all know they are going to work off SoD for PvE numbers

Top rogue is doing 1800 compared to top ret doing 1100, feral doing 1600, ele doing 1100, spriest doing 1k, and top warrior is doing 2.3k.

Mage is a meme that can’t be properly tracked via logs.

There is no hybrid tax in vanilla, warriors are just stronger than everyone else

In fact warlocks do the same damage as druid who is the only class who can tank/heal/dps in a raid setting. Wheres the tax?

heh . look, you and i both know there is a difference in the top classes by hundreds of dps and know there is a hybrid tax.

you can skirt around the issue all you want.

the avg group isnt going to have the raid makeup or the raid dps to achieve those numbers and will be much lower than that.

when you run out of mana and out of pots and dark runes you do 0 dmg and nobody is gonna innervate a hybrid.

you and i both know this.

why lie?

I answered your question and you didn’t like the answer that doesn’t mean im skirting LOL.
Bros not good enough to have hybrids in his raid

Explain the tax if warlocks and druids do the same dps

warlocks have many issues and are considered more support than mainline dps in vanilla

also you have to consider that 1 curse if they added it to the locks personal dps would amount to more dps contributed by the lock than any other class…

So only warriors count then? Sounds like its not a hybrid tax its a “not a warrior” tax

warriors are the special kid that eats crayons.

they also know the secret truth, green crayons taste like cucumbers.

Non browns fear the 4 button rotation of the superior brown class

Warriors have never not been hybrids. A hybrid is a class which can fulfill 2 or more of the 3 trinity roles, which warriors can. Period. Warriors are hybrids in the context of WoW.

Being a hybrid has nothing to do with fulfilling multiple roles in-combat. Moreover, off-healing being part of a hybrid DPS’ utility kit doesn’t mean they can take over as healer for an entire fight. They cannot, and their ability to cover for a brief period is no different than DPS warriors being able to tank for the duration of Shield Wall or rogues tanking for the duration of Evasion.

I’ve read everything you’ve written. The issue is that you’re a pig-headed moron with an agenda who doesn’t understand how logic works. You and yours are literally the ones saying “nuh-uh” to undeniable facts, and coming up with all sorts of embarrassing rationalizations to support your moronic stances.

None of the hybrids are capable of meaningfully fulfilling all these roles at once, let alone being good at them.

You also still haven’t explained how the hybrid tax is necessary when we have a literal generation of proof that it is not. Necessary in what way? Because it’s not necessary for balance, or for pures to have a place in content. So what is it necessary for?

You just described it. Rogues doing literally 80% more damage than an average hybrid DPS is a wild disparity.

Also everyone who isn’t a delusional warrior simp recognizes that they are the biggest issue in Vanilla, from every angle.

My guild members and I used to debate this a lot (before WoW) and we had similar discussions about pets. Our conclusion for Pets was simple; everyone gets one or no on gets one. We played SWTOR and saw first-hand that is the right approach.

So, with regards to Hybrids, no one should be a hybrid or… everyone should be a hybrid.

My favorite idea would be to make the three talent trees for ALL classes provide this. One tree for DPS increases, one for Tankiness and one tree for Support. And support does not have to be healing. one of my top MMORPGs was City of Heroes and support can mean a lot of things.

Paladin is already setup in this manner. Other classes would need some deep thought to get there, but for example: Rogue: Assassination for DPS, Combat for Tank goodness and Subtlety for Support. Every class could get hybrid face-lift. Imagine an Icey Mage Tank. Arcane Support. Arms Support Warrior, etc…

OK. it’s just a thought, but just in case, my lead lined pants are on.
