Hey all. Im looking for a pvp build that feels like old school druid. Right now i feel like im only shifting to bear for frenzy and thats literally it. Wondering if anyone has a build that would work. Thinking druid of the claw or resto wildstalker. Not looking to be 2400 but dont want to be useless either. Just faced a resto wildstalker who was doing some nice damage with convoke, stunning, bleeding, and then healing on top of that. Looking for something similar. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks all
You really just named specific talents that you want. You should pick those up. The rest are up to you, or the type of PvP you’re doing. If you spec Resto and talent for Rake, Mighty Bash, and Convoke (and likely Cenarius’s Guidance), you’ll get what you’re looking for. You very likely also want Master Shapeshifter. HotW and/or the thing that procs a 10sec HotW every 1 minute will probably be useful too, but that depends on how damage-focused you want to get.
I lay it out this way rather than linking a specific talent build because I run the same way, but I am frequently changing my talents and haven’t found a full build that I think is superior to any other. It all depends on the situation. I will say, however, that my resto/convoke build is pretty situational. I like it in arena, but I am playing at a pretty low level and people don’t expect convoke. Against better players, it’ll get shut down immediately. In BGs, I tend to find myself healing too much to focus on damage, but I do get the occasional oppt’y to help a teammate quickly capture a node when the defender is not expecting the healer to outright kill them. In epic Bgs, it’s pretty useless I think.
There is nothing in modern wow that plays remotely similar to the classic hybrid Druid build. Bear form for non-guardians is literally a form you shift into to reduce damage and regen. Cat form is literally for stealth and dash.
The closest thing you will get to a hybrid Druid in retail wow is honestly a Resto Druid with cat form talents playing wildstalker. You can deal some decent damage and obviously still heal your team.
