Can’t get him to appear. I’ve tried a half dozen times. Cleared the 5 portals, beat the squiggly thing at the base of the tower, tried multiple routes, cleared every mob, and never can get him to pop.
What am I doing wrong?
Take a look at the bug forums. You will find that you are not alone.
Kill the other mini boss
They mentioned the miniboss at the base of the tower.

I’ve killed everything that walks, crawls, oozes, and whatevers in the zone, no umbric

Didn’t say you killed the mage off by himself
He’s not by himself though, he summons the little squiggly things and he is one of the portal people. Regardless, I did it on an alt and it was available to complete on my main.
I just kill all the dots on the minimap and the tower opens.
Out of curiosity, did you run up the tower ramp to the portal room? That is where he is.
Yeah, it just wouldn’t let me into the portal room. Was stuck at the top of the stairs.
Did it on an alt and was able to complete and it then was working fine on my main. Someone on another thread said they renamed their WTF folder and that resolved it. Plus, Blizz did a hotfix as well. So, multiple ways to resolve if it happens again but it’s sorted for now.
