Difficult for me feel bad for hunters, use to be that the difficulty of the tame added prestige to actually obtaining it.
Just wait a month and tame it at 3am, you’ve waited this long to get a cloud serpent
Did people complain that they couldn’t kill rares because Hunters were taming them? Perhaps the shoe is now on the other foot now.
it’s not trolling, it’s you who doesn’t have the necessary common sense to realize the mob you want to tame drops a mount that hundreds of people farm on a daily basis, some even camp for hours and hours.
The same right you got to tame they got to kill, so whoever does it faster wins.
Special place in the maw for hunters taming world mobs/bosses that drop mounts. Stick with your indoor appearances.

Most rare spawns i have no problem with letting hunter tame them. Hulion sry i need that mount and i will kill him till i get it.

Did not realize he was tamable now. That’ll be a PITA for hunters and mount collectors for a few weeks.
Sorry but if he’s up I am killing him. I have a lot of characters farming that mount and I don’t really want to wait anymore than I have to for him to spawn so I can kill him. If you really want the pet then go there in warmode late at night or something.

I disagree, and i’ll be playing a Hunter again come Shadowlands.
Just because we can tame it doesn’t mean we own the spawn. When i wanted Ondasta, i parked me toon on the spawn, set my alarm for 4:30 am, woke up, tamed him, and went back to sleep. I’ll no doubt do something similar for Huolon. Any potential pet that drops a mount is fair game. If it DOESN’T and you kill it, then yes you’re a jerk.
I may be alone but I really, really miss hard to obtain hunter pets. Both the patience variety (Loque’nahak) and the challenge tame variety (Deth’tilac)

I’ma be honest here, I miss them as well yet once Cross Realm became a thing that went poof. My first hunter I ever made back in 2004 I still have him and I would set an alarm to wake me up early morning hours just to farm these rare pets.
This BE I have now, I created a character on my wifes computer on a low/dead server, partied up and phased right on over to that server and tamed ALL the rares in so little time.
It kind of made me sad, but at the same time I was happy to not have to wake up stupid early in the morning to fight for virtual pets.
I wonder why they did away with the tracking rares minigame from Mists? That was pretty interesting too.

The difference is now that Blizzard seems to like adding unique tames behind rares that also drop mounts. The only difficulty there is in that is hoping you can get the tame in before the tamable beast dies. With Huolon he can be one-shotted so…yeah.
Beasts like Huolon aren’t special hunter challenges like they used to add, or extremely rare spawns that were basically prestige tames. They are more of an inconvenience for pet hunters AND mount farmers than anything.
Tamable beasts and mount rares/world bosses should not occupy the same space. Hunters should get their own versions to pursue, even if it’s just waiting at one of a few spawn points hoping to get lucky like the old days.

Yeah I just did the exalted grind on timeless isle last weekend for the golden cloud serpent mount and there was literally never a time when someone wasn’t camping that spawn for the mount. It’s a super popular mount, even now, and it’s an obnoxiously slow spawn. So best of luck taming it but it’s not people trolling. Huolon has been kill on spawn pretty much forever.

Yeah, I go up from time to time to try and get the mount. /sigh. No joy so far.
don’t forget to pick up your Elegon Spirit Beast pet why you hunt down Hulon. I myself am going to check out the whole phasing into other lower pop realms to snatch it.
I just saw a Night Elf Hunter with a dragon named “Huolon” it looks pretty neat actually. Not sure if its the real one, the fin tints on it appear kind of green not black, but I don’t see any with green on Petopia.
Huolon is unique, in that he is covered in lightning. If it is not covered in lightning then it is not Huolon.
Ah then its the real deal then, he did have lightning sparklies all over.
