They have been! Not only in the LFG area but also in trade chat and via random whispers and in-game mail!
Ive literally never bought anything from a third party site but even if I did I feel like getting whispers and in-game mail is really pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable by a great deal.
I am pleased that the LFG section is greatly reduced, even though still very present but I hope more is done to cleanse the game of this disease.
Huokan have a direct liaison with internal Blizz employees. They regularly communicate with them so as not to get banned. They’re essentially unoffical Blizz boosters.
I want to know what these ruffians did to Susan. I’m still searching for you Susan. even if it looks like I’m on my couch watching a bunch of c tier movies.
You’re mad that someone is advertising services within the ToS? While I agree it fills up Trade however, what is Trade supposed to be used for? Trading services right? If anything they need to add another global channel and enforce the spammers if they use the main city general channel.
I suppose people have forgotten the train of whispers in the early days of WoW. Never ceasing. Always spamming. Then came the add ons. Then came the random invites. Then came the random guild invites. Then came the calendar spam.
They’re pushing the boundaries of ToS, especially when it comes to spam. Even though a particular character in their community isn’t spamming, the same message is sent by multiple toons. This is spam.
If you have any evidence that they are doing sales for anything other than in game gold I’m sure blizz would be happy to see it.
I agree that the spam is excessive but like you said they aren’t breaking the TOS at all so there isn’t really anything to do.
I’m sure an operation of that size does it only for in game currency and nothing else at all. Nothing to see here. It’s literally a means to an end and people are using technicalities to justify it.
For about as long as the gold selling community lives on. So for forever, because people suck.
And by suck I mean bad at the game and need other people to do it for them.
Prove that that particular person is breaking the rules, Blizz will ban then but there’s plenty more to fill that persons spot.
Prove that the whole organization is breaking the rules, Blizz will shut them down
But just as Houkan rose as Gallywix fell someone else will rise if Houkan falls
Of course but the problem will always exist, the only possible solution is to ban boosting but that has a few problems of its own and will just make it blackmarket not gone. Huokan has a discord with all their prices and what servers they are on so sure chat spam will be gone or an actionable offense if it is done but people will still be boosting.
So the question becomes what problem are you trying to solve? Boosting or the spam, the spam is easy to remove https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/global-ignore-list people buying boosts is much harder.
If it’s gold then it’s within the ToS there is a new one advertising mage tower carries that i report as RMT. Feels like yelling into the wind though because blizzard doesn’t communicate on those.
People say Huokan and other spammy boosting communities aren’t RMT but I find it hard to believe that all these people who spam trade chat all day like it’s their actual job are actually paying for rent or IRL food with WoW gold
