unless they have changed the spawn timer to stay within the 60minutes it has gone past 60minutes before when i’ve camped it years ago. galleon’s spawn timer was changed as well it was never 15minutes before ontop of that even sha’s spawn timer was changed. either way your still going to sit and camp since he dies fast with a pretty reasonable spawn timer.
I mean, you can review the credible posts on Wowhead. They’re timestamped by Wow version.
So you can see that, since they were released, those time frames I gave were and are accurate. They haven’t changed. They’ve always been that way.
Everyone likes to go off anecdotal evidence, or the mere observation of averages (like how people think Huolon is a 45min spawn, which I covered above). These things are tracked by TONS of hard evidence. Don’t take my word for it-- look it up!
But you’ll find that I’m right and what I posted is 100% accurate.
I farmed him non stop on a dead server on warmode he spawned every 45m for me, i probably have over 100 kills on him.
Each time I used my camp to port there, he was up every 45
Fun fact about dead RP servers:
If nobody is present in a shard for 15 minutes, the shard will shutdown.
So for example, on a dead server, if nobody is in Timeless Isle for 15 minutes, the shard running Timeless Isle on that realm will shut down. When someone re-enters Timeless Isles, the shard will restart. Mobs that are coded to spawn when a new shard is spun up will be up. All Timeless Isle rares are coded this way, including H boy.
I use NPCTime to track how long a mob has been alive. You’ll know you’re in a fresh shard when non-combat NPCs show they’ve been up for mere seconds.
You understand I’m not refuting anything you’re saying, right?
I’m just pointing to a different site that has tens of thousands of examples that back up the data that the spawn timer is 30-60mins. To say nothing of the fact that more than half of the other rare spawns on Timeless Isle, coincidentally, all have that same 30-60min spawn timer. Like it was … by design.
People can make up their own minds.
This is all true, too, and can mess with spawn timers.
Absolutely! And that’s the perk - if you park yourself at Huolon’s spawn (or whereever you need to be within his path to make him more accessible to you), you can effectively nerf his spawn timer from whatever it is down to 15 minutes. Logon, kill, logoff for 15 minutes (do a couple more to be safe), log back in, kill again. Rinse+repeat.
Imagine not having Huolon
i’ve clocked him in 70’s before and that is with a time stamp after my last kill. this was long ago in legion so possibly has changed since then but nothing significant to warrant a blue post about it. most of my kills were within 30-60’s.
As has been pointed out, there can be weird issues with sharding that can/might make the timer seem off.
But I don’t understand how anyone can stand in the face of tens of thousands (more?) of data points that prove it’s 30-60mins … and then still say “welllll I dunnooooooo I think it’s different…”
You’ve certainly proven there’s nothing I can say that will change your mind. lol Good luck to anyone still trying to get it!
HUOLON.
Not “Hirukon.”
But thanks.
OMG LOL
Reading is fundamental.
either way imma still have to farm that mfer and tlpd.
I love talking about how i got that mount on my very first kill and thought it was just like that for everybody for a month, until i saw someone complaining on the forums about it.
I am a Shaman using the macro:
/target Huolon
/cast Flame Shock
And when the alliance are nearby, I have to keep pressing the macro key so that I get the kill before the alliance does. I am on horde by the way. Is there anyway to make the macro repeat itself so I don’t have to keep pressing the macro key over and over again?
Hey hey you leave Earthen Ring alone, ya hear?!
I thought Timeless isle didn’t have shards. It’s shared across all realms.
