Hunters, what pet do you use?

The Cata challenge tame owl (the green spirit one) is my Horde Hunter’s pet of choice. On the Alliance side, I always use Hati. I never understood the hate for Hati. :frowning:

Thank you thank you!

Primarily my hunter(Horde btw) runs with the Kurken from Azuremyst Isle, but has Thok, the Tortos lookalike from Suramar and Gara on hand if I need 'em. I have no idea what’s in his stable though.

I use an Outland-styled blue and white wind serpent (actually a rare in Stonetalon Mountains) as MM… when I’m using a pet, anyway. Being able to bloodlust is a pretty awesome utility.

Sometimes I use the white cobra from Vol’dun for run speed, too.

My hunter’s primary pet is a fel-boar. He’s the cutest little piggie. I named him Tonton. Good tank & damage. Tontonvalso completes my transmog + mount aesthetics for him.

Fire turtle is the only pet ill ever need.

O.O holy heck that’s a lot more replies then i expected…

You must be fun at parties for pets.

also i just use a dog, got no issues with a pupper hangin around, (both metal and fleshy ones, also this is hawkens)

Hati or Gara, sometimes Myonix.

I prefer spirit beasts but I’m not patient enough to look for the rare ones. I do have the spectral gryphon on this character due to a happy accident, but having a winged, non-flying pet feels weird.

I use 2 red draenor raptors that match the appearance of Skullripper which was my mount before pathfinder2.
They also color match my transmog pretty well.

Now I don’t main a hunter or even remotely do anything beyond mog runs on my 120 Hunter…but I generally go for the Rule of Cool…now if I raided or pushed Keys on it…it would probably be a bit more limited in scope.

I have an Owl for general use PvP (also a reference to the Owl Scout ability that Rangers had in pre-release WC3 before they were cut), a Hyena for targeting healers, and a Gorilla for tanking in world content.

I like cats, but don’t use them since their stealth ability makes them so agonizingly slow, and turning it off feels against the spirit of the pet.

I use this WoWhead list as a reference for which pets to use, since pets are kinda restricted in end game BFA:

My hunter has always used a variety of pets, but I always preferred having a boar. It was traditionally a tank pet was the main reason, but there’s just something about their animations and noises and I always enjoyed more than the other types of beasts.

I’m a sucker for sabers.

The iron wolf, one of WoD’s few positive additions to the game.

My Hunter is so old that she didn’t start with a pet.

On my main I tame the rarest pets I can get my hands on. I enjoy the challenge of finding them.

No I don’t have a sporebat.

I have several Hunters (thanks for allied races) and I started color coding them. One Hunter has all blue pets, another has all red, etc. Atm I have:

  • 2 blue
  • 2 green
  • Yellow
  • Red
  • Black/void
  • Pink/Purple
  • White

My vulpera will be orange (to match their unique starter pet) and my mechagnome will be brown.

p.s. The pet I use for every thing on all my Hunters is a spirit beast. They’re truly the best pet. They’re a heal for you and a heal for tanking. Just use these two macros (replace my name with yours):

/cast [target=Tovi] Spirit Mend(Exotic Ability)

/cast Mend Pet
/cast [target=pet] Spirit Mend(Exotic Ability)

I generally use tanky ferocity pets for solo play. They make for good tank pets and the lust gives that extra boost for soloing rares

On this hunter I primarily use a Thunder Lizard (scale hide). A black one from Un’Goro named Skum after the boss in WC. It has a shield when it hits 50% health and Trolls thematically just work with reptiles.

On my Dark Iron I use a red Core Hound named RockynBitey. It has a 50% reduction in damage every minute and does fire damage to attackers. Great pet for pulling groups of mobs and a DI without a Core Hound just isn’t doing it right.

On my Goblin It’s a Gorilla named BigBooty. It has a 60% damage reduction if it falls below 40% health. Gorillas and Goblins just seem to fit. If mechanical pets had ben Ferocity, I’d have gone with one of them.

I always use Spirit Beasts. Right now, I’m using Loque-Nahak.

As BM I use both Hati and the white cat from Winterspring. I’ve had that cat since I hit the level I could tame it back in Wrath and can’t part with him.
