We can already tame a bunch of sentient creatures.
Why not Dragonkin?
I’ve been waiting over 16 years for this news.

What sentient beings? About the closest I can figure is spirit beasts and even there its iffy.
Dragons aren’t beasts. Dragons are dragons/dragonkin. Hunters can only tame beasts. Until or if they change that, we can’t tame dragons.
Screw dragons. I want to tame undead creatures. Gimme my bone raptor!
Ah now there I agree with you. And some of those big serpents, like the ones in Outland and Tanaris.
Gryphons. Wyverns. Raptors. And all sorts of case-by-case creatures.
While not hunter pets, there’s a lot of battle pets that are literally just the children of some of the more sentient enemies. Examples: harpies, wolvar, mantid, sporelings… we just straight up kidnap all kinds of things so I don’t see why we couldn’t have things besides beasts as hunter pets.
For a few days you could put a leash on the Argent Squire pet
I want to.
Kinda wish if they added it, they’d put it as some kind of Ardenweald reward or drop.
Dragons are far too sentient.
And yet we have them as mounts.
I’m unsure of blizzards stance on this but it would appear as if it’s ok for them to fly us around a bit but true captivity of being a hunter pet wouldn’t make sense considering they are not an animal of low intelligence.
Dragonmaw and vrykul both torture and dominate dragons to exert control so…
Anyway. I do think being Allied with a special dragon would make sense. Blizzard just hasn’t got around to it.
Im just picturing a bunch of Gnomes and Goblins trying to tame big dragons and then having to run away to escape being eaten.
Indeed. I think it’s a bit more demeaning to fly around on something than it is to fight side by side with it.
and then only a small shuffling step to
TAMING DRUIDS
Never forget Swamplord Musel’ek
He has shown us the Way
Well it sounds nice… but! I think they should just wait for a heavily based dragon expansion to do this. You know… the one I keep hinting at with time travel and some type of dragoon class that has instant flight form and four specs. ** wink wink **
So they could just turn around that expansion and be like, you get a dragon and you get a dragon! Everyone gets a dragon ~! Even hunters that want to tame them. You guys get one too.
Who knows tho maybe they will let us do it ahead of time. Or maybe we will never get to. Only Blizzard knows.
All I know is in Shadowlands they should be more focused on all the neat species/pets they introduce us to in that expansion. Hoping for some neat stuff. I know everyone was super happy with all the pets in BFA. Even OG hunters I knew of, gave praise.
You can put a leash on Uuna, but if you do you are deserving of death.
Yep I want this too lol, it’s really not that silly. We already have them as mounts and pets, having them fight with us isn’t a stretch.
They’re mounts willingly.
They’re as intelligent or more intelligent than us peon races. They’d form more a bond of friendship than anything.
I’m not sure I would call them sentient. They’re definitely not comparable to dragons in this case, anyway.
Raptors built a rocket!
But in all honesty, wyverns are the most notable example. They can actually converse with Tauren and learned Orcish when Thrall showed up. They’re allies of the Horde rather than local tamed beasts.
At least, during WCIII.
Tame a Worgen, as a Worgen.
