Hunters Shouldn't Use Mana

I was curious the other day I decided to play Season of Discovery! I noticed however that my hunter was using Mana?? Now lets be honest we all know Hunters should use focus! Is their a possibility that we can change this? It would improve hunters! They NEED this change!

kek wait till you learn about deadzones, having to feed the pet, and the archaic concept of arrows / bullets.

Hunters use mana, pets use focus.

The vanilla hunter is a nearly perfectly designed class, should give it a shot it has a lot of flavor and a very high skill cap.

It’s because the class was rushed for release so they didn’t implement it for hunter. I’ve heard it got focus during some alpha builds but idk if it’s true.
The real swap to focus happened in Cataclysm.

Mana works great for hunter pvp playstyle since you do a ton of fight resets, which allows you to drink/eat and easily manage that resource.

So great hunters have zero mana problems while not so good ones are often struggling with it.

The way they are in vanilla is near perfectly designed to reward good playstyle and skill.

Hem I would say mana works great because vanilla was designed as a rpg, retail rotations are much more engaging imo and mana wouldn’t work. In SoD we have no mana issue because all we do is click multi shot once every 10s and serpent sting once every 15s.

At higher levels in pvp you use a bit more mana, with aimed or arcane / multi / sting on cooldown (often sting on gcd) then scatter + fd + traps. But whenever you trap reset in 1v1s you can drink while eating and get all the sweet mana back.

And yeah, even going oom on a hunter is probably the class that loses the least amount of DPS since autoshot and pets are both super powerful

if they remove mana from hunter they become even more op no tys

Yeah, the initial design of hunter focus was that it would regenerate after standing still but that was terrible gameplay. They were going for like an aimed shot/sniper training kind of thing. I do like the idea they were going for but it needs to be redesigned completely. Sorry OP but no way hunter’s getting focus bar in SoD I bet. Maybe a focus buff/debuff system instead that modifies something else. I’m still surprised there’s nothing that makes it so you can shoot accurately from even farther for “focusing” and standing still like a real sniper.

I quit playing WoW when Cata came out specifically because hunters switched to focus. Get outta here with that

Naw, there is only 1 change hunter needs that warlock needs as well. A 6th bag slot for quiver/soul shard bag. I am completely fine with the concept of ammo and shards I prefer it actually. But the fact it majorly reduces your bag space is aggravating.

I thought about rolling hunter until I remembered the tomagachi feed pet bs.

I liked different ammo/arrows though. Infinite but interchangeable arrows with different flavors (like rogue poisons) is a missed opportunity imo.

It isn’t that bad, once the pet likes you they don’t get hungry too often. If the pet is picky eater just grab a couple stacks of the food from vendor and it will last you a long time. Some pets you will pickup enough food in the world for them naturally.

Just fill your quiver + a few stacks in bags before dungeons and you’ll be good. Arrow management is kinda fun :slight_smile:

Highest dps up to 40th percentile, close 2nd up to 80th, and a respectable 3rd up to the highest percentiles

The only issue with Hunter is their lack of useful rune options. Their actual dps performance is perfectly fine
