lmao.
I remember why I stopped using barrage. I had no concept of how far reaching it is the first time I fired it off in a dungeon. We survived, but some unhappy players there. lol
I think starfall on druid might have been another one I fired off in a smallish area one time and pulled half the room accidently.
It only takes making the mistake once to never do it again, lmao.
If DPS pull intentionally, either vote kick or leave
Thereās a 3rd option : up the pace.
If you pull less than every other tank, especially in a leveling dungeon where most players want XP/hour, you risk getting some MDāed mobs onto you. Consider it a nudge to go a bit faster.
If Iām on a NE this would nudge me into shadowmelding and letting the hunter tank for a bit. ![]()

Hunters have Feign death. If you shadowmeld as a tank, youāre likely to get kicked by the healer and other dps that just want the run to be fast.
Alternatively, they just might pull through, proving they donāt even need you, then kick you for afking.
It never pays to be toxic. If your group is itching to go faster, pull faster.
Itās funny that GD folks talk a big game about how they would act while tanking, yet I never see you in any leveling dungeons, doing this stuff.
All talk, no walk Andys ?
When I tanked in the past, I used to like it when hunters pulled with misdirect. At least when their pets didnāt run into the groups of mobs. It gave me some of that initial threat to keep mobs off my healers.
Now, if the hunter is simply pulling too much for you or the group to handle, then it is time to talk to them. In the past, if they pulled before CC, that could also be a problem.
Use a neural silencer if no one has suggested it yet.
Also, if youāre running into issues in leveling dungeons as a tank, pick the person being problematic, kick them for reason: ābad tankā and watch them be kicked. Problem solved.
It never pays to be toxic
Ironic coming from you seeing you rage about new tanks and refusing to accept that DPS cause a lot of wipes.
Not all of them, but a lot.
you rage about new tanks
I donāt rage about them at all. I just tell them to go faster.
refusing to accept that DPS cause a lot of wipes.
First : there arenāt even a lot of wipes in leveling dungeons period. Much less those caused by DPS. In fact itās the opposite I see : over zealous tanks that pull too much that cause wipes.
Also, why did you disappear after you got completely schooled about saying I donāt have AotC when my armory shows full Mythic clears ? Were you embarassed when you noticed you were looking at your own armory instead of mine ?
I mean, I always put misdirect on tanks but I donāt actually attack until they have attacked.
Iām hardstuck in the mentality that tanks need to establish aggro for a few seconds before I go ham. And baby, I always go ham.
Is that not accurate anymore?
Who cares. I rule.
put misdirect on tanks
establish aggro for a few seconds
What exactly do you think Misdirect does ?
You might try neural silencer, you can thank the gnomes for that one!
I assumed it did my taxes and found the best competitive prices for services and goods. Is that not accurate??
Is that not accurate??
Amongst other things sure.
You might try neural silencer
And get voted out for actively undermining your group ?
I will suggest to get used to it , not in a mean way, but the game is full of rude people and the only thing you can do is grow thicker skin or fur whatever
The ONLY circumstance I would do that is with a tank I know, like a guildmate. Whom I know could handle the pull and not be bothered by it.
Donāt play hunter much, but when I do, I misdirect to the tank then attack the pack the tank is pulling to help get them threat.
Since I main a tank, if Iām not pulling something on purpose means Iām not ready, or Iām not sure my groupās capability, or I feel it doesnāt need to be pulled when i DPS I tend to respect that. Players that donāt either donāt know better or know the full capability of their tank or are trolls
I decided to try tanking Mana Tombs on a Prot Paladin. I started out slow to see how the healing would go. I took more damage than I expected because of scaling but I managed. I pulled the 2 mobs that are just in front of the doorway when you start, I figured that would be save. But then the mobs outside the door came in immediately. There was a hunter in the group and I immediately knew what had happened. The hunter pulled the other mobs and misdirected on me, making pull much bigger than I had planned at this point. I decided I wasnāt going to tank if the hunter was going to pull whenever he felt like it. So I left.
Anybody else see this behavior from hunters much? Before you say āyou were obviously going too slow if the hunter pulledā I will point that this was at the very start of the run. When I run as DPS, I usually let the tank set the speed, especially at the start when they are seeing how the healing goes.
bubble yourself and send the aggro back
And get voted out for actively undermining your group ?
Itās a leveling dungeon. None of this is a big deal at all.
However, like I said, vote kick the problematic dps with the reason ābad tankā and watch em go.
Itās a leveling dungeon. None of this is a big deal at all.
Funny, seemed like a big deal with how much people get mad at people wanting the tank to go faster.
vote kick the problematic dps with the reason ābad tankā and watch em go
More than likely kick the tank with the reason āpulled mobsā and see the slow tank go.
It never pays to be toxic
An overused buzzword for sure, but hunters deciding the pace and doing the pulling isnāt any better. Itās not all about them.
