While I love the 100% bonus XP on quests, it’s creating a leveling gap between my pet and my hunter. It would be nice to get a solution for this… maybe a 1-time consumable to level the pet to the hunter?
Just make it so that Hunter pets can get exp from quests, easy.
Just tame a new pet. Isn’t that part of the whole Hunter experience?

This is certainly an issue, albeit with a solution that Glinda proposes.
Pets do not share in quest XP, nor rested XP. So if you have rested XP and do quests, you can certainly outlevel your pet.
It used to be possible to keep 2 pets leveled up with you fairly easily. Now, it is easy to outlevel even a single pet.
I have to intentionally slow down on quests and just grind mobs to keep my pet caught up.

I am leveling with someone doing exactly this.
They are attempting to keep two hunter pets leveled and it is a bit challenging.
Thats why they just changed how pets leveled and auto-same as the hunter as it is now in retail.
Ha.
Which is why my partner and I are not playing that version. They like the challenge.
Maybe the OP would prefer that?

This is someone making an issue out of a non issue. The hunter pet requires 25% of the exp to level that the hunter requires. So in normal xp rates, with quests the pet would level 2 to 3 times to the hunters one level. A quick run of a dungeon would level a pet a couple of times at lower levels. Also, stop being an idiot. You only need one pet while leveling and that is an owl. After that the only other pet you want (not need) is a wolf, and that is just to farm gold. There is jack all reason to run any pet besides owl until TBC. Just get owl at 16, get screech and enjoy life.
People can like different things and get enjoyment even when not going by a template or guide.
We can disagree with suggestions without name calling as well. Besides that owl flapping is annoying.

How far are u ahead of your pet?
I totally agree. I generally have 2 pets, one suitable for questing and one suitable for instances. Normally it is challenging, but possible, to keep 2 pets current, but in SOM it is not. It’s a minor issue in the big scheme of things, but I would like the pet XP gains bumped up so that several days of dedicated grinding are not necessary to maintain 2 pets.
