I started as a hunter way back. I make mistakes here and there. But as of late any new hunter seems to be having issues hunters understanding the class. Low level dungeons are a pain with hunters.
They need their own special starting zone so they understand they have to dismiss pets or what to attack and not attack. Some kinda special hunter bootcamp that they have to go through and train and then do a final test.
It’s funny, they have done the exact opposite. You cannot even control your pet in any way until level 10.
In the past if you were starting a hunter with full boas your pet was too OP and would overkill mobs preventing you from doing certain quests that require low hp mobs. You had to literally get you pet killed on purpose because you can’t select pet passive.
I completely agree. A hunter tutorial would be a nice addition for the class. They’ve always been seen as the “Town Idiot” if you will. Not dismissing and pulling entire rooms or randomly attacking a mob it has no right attacking has been an issue since vanilla. It’s a large part as to why we’ve coined the nickname “Huntard”. They did implement the auto turn off of growl when entering instances… which I’m sure many would agree is bittersweet. Since it auto turns off, I’ve noticed lot’s of newer hunters that don’t even know where to find the pets growl toggle. One of the bigger issues however with hunters in general and why I’m assuming they don’t get much attention whether it be number tuning or pet AI is the fact that so many people still play them regardless. I fear it’s going to take a lot more than forum posts about people gquitting over low numbers or pointing out all instances where your pet’s cleave can clip through walls… or your pet can’t find a path before blizzard gives the class the attention it needs.
There is an actual bug with it to where if you call a pet inside an instance or your pet dies and you revive it, you have to turn growl on and then off for it to actually be off. They’ve known about the bug for months and it’s still not fixed. So I wouldn’t hold your breath.
You’d think if money actually talked, blizzard would start listening to it’s player base instead of hemorrhaging so many players monthly. Their investors are going to catch on eventually and realize the quarterly reviews are all b.s.
Not that kinda money. I’m talking about rich person money where they can drop a million on their company to get changes done. That’s the ONLY kind of money that talks.
