Getting real annoying when you Feign Death but the Mobs then turn around and start hitting your pet, even when they never attacked the mob, and forcing you to stay in combat. This should apply to all Pets that Beast Master can bring out.
Play Dead is what you’re looking for no?
there is a glyph for this.
But that’s a separate ability. Not tied to Feign Death, right?
Macro it. /10chars
If you’re cutting edge PvP, you don’t want to macro it. But yeah … Macro it.
No, and it shouldn’t be. Reason being is that dumping aggro and taking aggro are valuable tools. Yeah, sure it’s fun to get the mob to stop beating on you and the pet at the same time, but that’s the most rudimentary use of it.
For example, in a group you can FD and have the pet hold threat just long enough to direct the mob away from the group. Toss a Freezing Trap to lock it in place, pet should stop attacking automatically, command pet to run back to you, Play Dead in a safe spot. Mob’s locked in a spot you want, aggro is dumped for both you and the pet, you and the pet are (with luck) in a safe spot, and you can take the minute you have to heal up and pull again.
What’s the point of this thread if you know Play Dead exists? Literally macro it to FD if you want a button that does both at once.
Besides: like Kabbie said, it’s actually very often useful to have them separated so I’d rather not lose that capability because someone was too lazy to make a macro.
Yeah, just make a macro for it. The following is my macro, just one button.
/cast Feign Death
/cast Play Dead
And hit it again when you want to rez your pet. Can to it before you move, while you move, or after you move.
That sounds like a bandaid to excuse Blizzard just not having it as a feature.
Controlled utility options = lack of features?
Just macro it my dude, it’s not that hard.
It’s not a band aid it’s actually an ideal design. You now have the option to FD yourself, your pet by itself or both at the same time. You have total control this way, why would you want it to be set in stone either way?
LOL okay. Say thank you to the nice folks who answered your question and move along.
