Survival has certainly been over nerfed and struggles currently, especially in SRGB. So at least for survival I believe yes. Their ratings currently are only higher then select tanks, and augmenter evoker.
Not in PvE
No one is happy till bm is in a cesspool at the bottom of the parses. Scawwy ai pet oh noes!
Den recovery needs to come back into the Sv tree. It should have been moved to the Sv tree or the general tree, not deleted entirely.
Sulfur lined pockets / quick shot is weak for having to spend 2 points to get this, the points are better spent elsewhere. Sulfur lined pockets would be worth it if it was every other quick shot is a 100% explosive shot.
Sentinel hero tree feels superior to the Pack Leader tree still.
Pathetically bad designs like Ghillie Suit should be looked at before they go live. Change it to “…dot damage does not break camo for 10 seconds…1 minute internal cd…”. something here.
Kinda feels like Blizz wants to change our hero ultimate to Aspect of the Turkey.
SV in PVE and PVP is about as middle of the pack spec as you can get. It’s not the worst, and it’s not the best. If played well it works, but you can just play a more meta spec and do more with it (and most likely easier).
I mean, there’s like 10 sv players in the world when it isn’t meta. 10 is higher than the 3 for aug and tanks.
I’m not going to speak on the rest of your second post, but this one bothers me. I don’t see how you can ever say Sentinel > PL atm and I know you’re speaking purely from a PVP standpoint.
For PVP, Sentinel is very very niche atm. PL is better defensively even though it shouldn’t be, and is better for kiting purposes because of Slicked Shoes. PL also just outright gives you one shot potential on every trap go. You, on average, do about 200k-280k more DPS in PVP as PL than you do as Sentinel, and your burst is so much higher if you get either boar or wyvern.
Dark Ranger definitely needs some attention.
In general: QoL and AoE buffs to DR and small gameplay buffs to Sentinel and PL, small Survival tree revisions, and a buffed or replaced Shell Cover.
For PvP: At least a bit of survivability increase to SV.
Otherwise we don’t seem to be in too bad a position.
Accordant spitballs:
Fixing Shell Cover:
- Shell Cover now prevents up to 20% of health of damage that would otherwise drop you below 20% health. This amount regenerates over 90 seconds. Simple emergency save. Additionally, it causes you to heal while under Aspect of the Turtle, at a rate fading from 10 to 5% health per second.
- Shell Cover now shares a choice node with Den Recovery, which acts as before but also increases your natural health regeneration by 200%.
Making Kill Shot (and Dark Ranger AoE) worthwhile:
- Kill Shot damage increased from 400% AP to 500% AP, but Razor Fragments’ damage bonus to primary target has been reduced from 75% to 40% (still amounting to the same total damage of 700% AP).
- Razor Fragments’ portion of damage additionally dealt to nearby enemies has been increased from 35% to 50%.
- Cull the Herd and Born to Kill each buffed to a 35% increase (to Bleed damage and Kill Shot damage, respectively), up from 25%.
- Black Arrow is now usable also against enemies above 80% health by default, per its tooltip. The Bell Tolls now instead causes each Black Arrow actively loosed to grant you 8% Haste fading over 8 seconds, with multiple applications able to overlap up to 20% total bonus Haste at any moment.
- Cobra Senses now also causes Kill Shot to increase the critical strike chance of your next Kill Command by 20% and vice versa.
Hero Spec QoL:
- Bleak Powder no longer requires Trick Shots.
- Lunar Storm is now a separate and oGCD action (macro it to whatever you like if you like).
Rest is WIP.
I was honestly pretty excited to use the leveling buff to make a hunter and go Dark Ranger. Joke’s on me, apparently Dark Ranger is so bad nobody even bothers writing any talent recommendations for it.
I’ll continue on with it, but I’m not happy!
What are you talking about. Both wowhead and icy veins have guides for dark ranger for mythic and raid and open world.
Note that Dark Ranger is considerably undertuned at the moment, so it is not included among viable builds here. You will instead find its builds on the Hero Talent page, alongside additional information about the Hero Trees.
Wow, it’s almost like this proves my point and no amount of Male Pattern Baldness Reddit Pedantry is going to change that.
