Just a reminder that this ability was removed multiple times already and for some reason they brought it back in the worse way possible. We have issues with button bloat, why add a new button that is not fun to press.
Make it a passive that gets applied after we arcane shot or something like all other specs in the game that can apply the raid passive\enemy debuff without extra keybinds.
Keybinds should be for fun stuff only. Remove boring bloat

What is confusing? MM having lots of abilities keybinds and management and macros while also not having as much utility and spells as other classes?
5 or 6 keybinds just for pets on MM that dont give you any utility and its all about micromanaging a pet. I would take 5-6 spells that do something over pet management keybinds. What is confusing about wanting stuff to be merged to reduce bloated nothing burger spells we have to press.
What are you going to streamline then for MM’s normal gameplay loop lol. Go on and give an actual example instead of freaking out because someone dared to question the validity of Asmongold
Remove hunters mark and make it baseline passive when you use arcane shot like WW monks and Demon hunters passives
Making pet lust baseline for MM hunters that use lone wolf so we can remove all our pet keybinds just for summoning lusting then dismissing a pet.
Its very common for blizzard to reduce keybinds of pointless stuff in order to open up specs to more keybinds
We are not playing DND we are playing wow. The DND game mode and wows game mode is completely different. In DND a mage can use a spell only 3 or 4 times imagine using that logic for a frost mage? Oh you used ice nova twice already so go back to the INN and rest before using it again. They are not the same game and shouldnt be identical
So your solution to remove rotational button bloat is to remove a button you press once per fight? I don’t know if that addresses much of anything personally.
How many times do you think you press hunters mark in wow? In a battleground or a dungeon?
Its enough for it to be a annoying global that no other class would enjoy. Zero reason why it should be a keybind and if there are reasons its been removed by blizzard like 4 or 5 times now because they found it to be annoying and players didnt like using it. So even blizzard agrees its not fun and im assuming a new dev brought it back in.
I mean in dungeons I use it on bosses only or dangerous trash with slightly higher than normal HP pools, but you are asking the wrong person, because I have it bound to a keybind I don’t think about it at all. /shrug
Button bloat isn’t a worry of mine at all right now. If TWW adds like, 3 regular rotation buttons then sure it’d be a problem, but I believe Blizzard said they arent going to be adding a lot of active buttons.
You must be the first person i have found that would rather have to press it on a global than it just be automatic. Well im happy you enjoy it at least.
Not a fan personally, i dont mind it in classic because the game is so slow anyway rotation wise but in retail it does not feel right.
Which is fair, especially like you said since mystic touch/chaos brand are all passive. Something to be considered however is that they do apply to specific instances of damage instead of all damage like ours.
Agreed, it’s horrible. I don’t mind having some version of Hunter’s Mark in the game, not hating on DnD at all, but make it good. If you can’t figure out a way to make it a fun ability that you want to press, it’s better to leave it out. Give all Hunter’s Trueshot Aura as a passive raid buff, give Marksmanship better/real cooldowns, and either ditch or completely change Hunter’s Mark.
Hunters mark could be a cooldown ability imo which would be way cooler. Mark a target which allows you to move and use aimshot and your aimshots are all crits or something
She didn’t specify “rotational button bloat”, though, only abilities that are pointless to have as separate buttons “that could be merged into passives”.
If you’re the one wanting to shift the goalpost, don’t expect everyone else to kick to the old position.
Ours still affects significantly less damage, though, since it specifically only affects damage dealt when the target is above 80% HP.
It’s rare that more than two-thirds of the party’s damage is tipped just towards physical or magical, meaning a 5% buff to either is generally going to net at least a 2% total damage contribution.
The most a 5% buff to damage over 80% HP can amount to, though, is 1%, because there’s only a fifth of the enemy’s HP up there.
And if those stronger effects can be applied passively, there’s no reason Hunter’s Mark should be thus unable.
On the contrary, Hunter even has an excuse for the effect of Hunter’s Mark to be an aura, rather than tack-on effect tied to certain other skills.
I don’t think it should be so MM-specific, but sure. Ideally as a choice, though.
Perhaps even more importantly, too, as an oGCD (something which does not respect or incur the global cooldown), so its value isn’t quite so skewed by enemy TTK.
Yes, any hunter PVP wise will have full action bars. I have more binds on my hunter than on my rogue.
do you want me to prove it by showing you hunter arena ui from twitch? I mean do you realize how many binds we need to manage pet micromanage wise not even talking about pet skills on arena targets or all the silences and interrupts we need focus binds for?
Just for pet micro management you need pet summon, pet dismiss, pet revive, pet heal, pet attack, pet follow, pet move to. That is 6 binds just for pet commands for many different things like moving them out of rings etc.
Not to mention all of our utility that needs a focus binds. Have you ever played a hunter?

Dear god yes! I loved the ability in classic but it’s just been turned into a useless button to press. They did it right previous when they removed it. It was a insult to bring it back as our “raid/group utility”! Just remove it already blizzard.
