Please give us anything to help getting invites - any class utility or buff. All other classes that provide lust also provide some other buff (mage - arcane brilliance/fire shield, decurse; shaman- windfury, totems, decurses, evoker - buff, decurses, party buff if aug). ultimately there is no reason why people are inviting hunters except for just pure damage and a lust if they do not have- which is rare.
The hunter’s mark is really, really bad. Doesn’t provide a lot of benefit and on CD, hard to move around, with mobs - just get rid of it completely. It’s never worth spending the global between mobs. give us something else, please!
I don’t think they’ll ever give us that, since we’re flooded with utility via different pets (admittedly for BM in particular) that is severely under-utilized – but it would be nice to replace hunter’s mark with a party buff… like 1-3% crit buff for all or a flat attack power increase like battle shout. Could call it something cliché like “Hunting Party.”
They could bring back some of the old Aspects back but make them kind of like Aspect of the pack the new aspect of the hawk can give the hunter like 6% crit and the raid 3% crit or something like that.
Respectfully, what utillity do different pets bring? They’ve dumbed down pets so much you’ve basically only got the choice between MS/ A slow (lol concussive shot)/ or a turtle shell.
It’s funny. When they tried to add it back with SL, I was in the Alpha and Beta. We raised enough of fuss around it that they pulled it out at the last minute. The beta forums are gone now, but I was able to dig this up.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying any of the pet abilities are gameplay-defining… but that’s the crutch blizz would fall upon when you ask why hunter utility doesn’t have a broader scope. Stuff like Spirit Mend and Surface Trot is still there for BM, also the basic abilities slows, master’s call, and fortitude.
But even the slightest pet taunt to help a tank during massive damage pulls makes a slight difference in utility.
