It would be cool if the hunter’s skills were based largely off of the beasts that they’ve tamed or have out at the time. I understand why it’s not like this. But it would still be cool.

Not mentioned in the OP is how many of these pets are in an absolutely useless family tree, so they’ll never see the light of day. Especially cool ones like the Cloud Serpent.

All those critters become nothing more than run of the mill doberman pincers post taming and any actual “special attack” they keep ends up being worthless and often a DPS loss to use. (See worm’s burrow attack.)
Someone has to play the support classes.
Demonology has been second rate since they removed Metamorphosis. It’ll probably stay Second rate until they give it back.
I think that would be a neat spell. Mind Control Druid. We could have a druid bear or cat as a pet for while - before you turned around and bit us in the butt of course (

I’m mostly just being silly… mostly. My main hunter uses the brown owlcats from Azsuna, they’re so pretty

My voidwalker is the only elemental worth having as a pet. He even has shoulderpads and a breastplate.
