Since we will not know in hunter’s are even playable till the end of the month are you planning to switch to another class?
I was going to level a hunter alt first but now I don’t know. I’ll probably try it to see how bad it is but unless it’s fixed I doubt I’ll stick with it.
I might honestly. Losing the gold farming is kind of sad, but since Blizzard doesn’t care about Hunters I don’t think I want to play one.
My only 40 was a hunter. Pet behavior was buggy and frustrating, but they were very playable as is. If they don’t fix a single bug they will be fine. Obviously I would prefer they fix everything… but the sky is not falling. The bugs are manageable.
Really? FD is really bad, pet AI is really bad, and there are other bugs that just flat out ruin Hunters. If FD is unreliable, leeway is easily abused by melee, and we can’t even scatter/trap reliably anymore then we’re dead in the water in PvP and lose a lot of utility in PvE.
I’ve decided to abuse leeway and be able to melee from 20 yards away. Tauren warrior all the way!
Serious question: does leeway only affect hunters in PvP? Or does this effect them in PvE / dungeons / raids as well?
FD being broken is the big one. Pets are (mostly) fixed.
I still have plans to roll my hunter as my farming alt… so yea… I won’t be on a PVP server. I’ll just have to figure out and strange quirks as I level.
I honestly don’t expect it to be too bad, but only time will tell.
i know i love having EVERY mob run to me befor my pet get’s aggro
Nope, I’m a Hunter for life.
They lost gold farming? What?
While the leeway is ridiculous. It benefits us Hunters as well.
Just wait till the Rogues and Warriors start complaining Hunters are wingclipping them from ridiculous distances.
Nah still making a hunter alt. Old Pet System > Leeway.
Losing the gold farming in that I can’t do it as well as other classes.
Yea this is going to be kind of a get em first deal. Almost feel bad for people with bad connections. Lol.
I’m rolling at least 3 classes on rested XP. Hunter will be in there for sure. Just might be rolling mage though. Going to do a warrior as well.
See how it goes come launch. Playing it by ear.
It wont matter.
Every Hunter will get Improved wingclip and lockdown melee easier. With the greater distance thanks to leeway, well be able to escape deadzone faster and start shooting.
This is a big buff.
It affects everyone, everywhere.
If that mob walks towards you, you better believe that the game is going to assume that he is 5yrds closer than he is.
This video shows it a bit at the start with Worgen NPCs
Basically, from the range the mob is hitting him from at range, add 5 yrds. That is your total deadzone in Classic.
At the same range they are hitting you with Imp Hamstring so…not sure how you benefit.
Hunters can’t move and shoot, melee can attack and move.
You are always going to be on the receiving end of leeway “shortening” and never on the beneficial end of leeway “lengthening”
It might benefit your melee range slightly, sure, but that is the last place you want to be.
You only want to dip Wing Clip and get back out. You aren’t going to abuse it in any meaningful way.
Duoing on a paly with a friend and rolling either Hunter or Mage as my solo/main character, depending on the state of Hunters on release. Atm it’s looking like mage, but we’ll see in 2 months.
