Wouldn’t tinkers use battle suits for ranged dps instead of guns? Besides, Survival will still exist, so Hunters won’t be completely replaced, unless tinkers also get a melee spec.

I have doubts that Tinkers will ever make it into the game for the following reasons (despite the tease via one of the Island Expedition groups in BFA):

dont get me wrong i dont want a class slot wasted on tinkers id rather not have a class at all.

I think this is just a loud minority. I have no interest in a tinker class and many others dont either.
Besides, MSV would have to lose one his core abilities, his bombs. Besides sentry turrets, bombs and explosives are probably the most iconic thing for tinkers.
i think the tinker hype is much like the high elf hype - a small core of very, very, very dedicated fans who incessantly post about it and give the impression that the demand is very high when in fact, most people simply do not care.
personally, i think the name “tinker” is infantile and would refuse to play the class on that alone. i also wouldn’t reroll to any class that doesn’t have pets because i didn’t play hunter because it was ranged, i signed up because i specifically loved the idea of fighting in unison with a loyal animal companion.
i browsed the tinker threads before i realised it was 90% the same person posting over and over again, but as far as i can tell, the 2-3 rabid tinker fans actually just really want to tank in a gundam and all the other stuff is secondary.

Yeah, no. We hear about it every so often where one guy makes a thread and the majority of responses is lukewarm disinterest or people who dont want another class to balance.
Its certainly not high on the wish list for many people.

No.
Some people used to fantasize about tinkers. At this point, it is outdated expansion leak meme material.
That said, Id accept a tinker that drops turrets and mini tonks for tanking if they remove black ox statue and invoke niuzao from brewmaster and actually focus on brew management.
