Hunters Are Awesome

Been playing World of Warcraft for 15+ years, and this is the first time I rolled a hunter in a classic setting and…

This class is an absolute blast. No wonder there are so many of them.

Survival-specced traps, snares and slows make me feel like a slippery eel, ranged weapons feel awesome, and pets as a whole are such a crutch that it genuinely feels like I’m cheating while leveling.

Man I love this game

i love hunters too, because i just dot them and they cant do anything at all but die.

So while survival an be a fun spec, its actually not. great HC leveling spec outside of improved FD, unless you like to melee or want to do a lot of kiting. As you will level you will find your pet simply can barely hold agro because of low threat, this obviously isn’t as bad at low levels, but as you get higher it becomes much more noticeable. I currently run survival on one of my hunters (Non HC) as its more a pvp spec, and find even with auto shot my pet wont hold agro for more then a few seconds. Now in my pets defense, I do have T1 and a decent weapon, but at higher levels they will struggle a bit even if your bm. Obviously if your kiting or duoing with another this could change everything as your pet simply becomes a low DPS dot.

One benefit of beast mastery to consider is you can put 2 points into pathfinding and have cheetah at 36% speed to the point where its almost not even worth the bother of having the 40% mount.

Hunter is OP easy mode in HC. Imo Hunter is a great class to start with. BM with a pet that is trained up with natural armor and resistances is a beast! You can solo most elites and you have a ton of utility to gtfo if needed.

The one downside is overconfidence. You can easily get into dangerous situations because you are used to steam rolling everything.

BM is disgusting to level with get dragonslayer buff if you can and the pet will solo the mobs quickly you just need to tag for credit
