For Multi-shot and Aimed shot what ranks do you use when you need to downrank, while farming or when low on mana? does it depend on your mana gen?

What do you mean? Are you suggesting I join a classic hunter discord server? If so, do you have a link?
Since you have AA, why can’t you just AA until your mana regens? I’ve never heard of hunters down ranking. But I’ve never mained one either.
Typically you don’t need to in raids because of things like Judgement of Wisdom, Mageblood Potion, Brilliant Mana Oil, and Blessing of Wisdom. However, when soloing it is quite easy to go oom but I expect that when that happens people just drink.
I was wondering if there might be a better way to approach that problem.
auto attack is fine but the regen is kinda slow especially when you’re killing things quite quickly.
the only time i’ve heard of downranking as a hunter is with multi-shot in situations where mana becomes an issue, or when stinging a rogue in pvp.
dude just send the pet and drink. Dont down rank but i like to use 2 brilliant mana oil on both my hatchet on my hunter

Literally never downrank as a Hunter. Just use consumes. A Mana Potion and/or Dark Rune will completely suffice for your mana needs.

Only acceptable downrank is a rank 1 multishot. Might be nice for farming and help you drink less if they’re low level mobs you may not need the extra damage.
Don’t use it in raids though just do like posted above and please use pots + runes to maximize dps.
Just give 1g to a fellow mage for water and blast away

I just never use serpent sting even if got the new rank . I got 510 agility
Down ranking for things like serpent sting, multi shot, and even volley have their places. Even wing clip has it’s time and place to down rank.
Multi shot and volley down ranking is for the mobs that have 1 hp (example, silithis swarmer bugs).
Serpent sting and wing clip down ranking is a pvp thing, and a weapon training thing.
