Which is better and why?
Warlock.
Better pet abilities.
No Deadzone.
Healthstones.
Soulstones.
Summons.
Curse Utility.
Strong PvP.
etc. etc.

I would say hunter, but because key elements are bugged, warlock…

Hunters are pretty bugged right now, scale worse than Warlock, aren’t as in demand in raids for utility (outside of a few for Tranq Shot/TSA for the melee), and given the bugs are dead in the water in PvP.
also…the color purple and green. That is our stuff!

End game hunters are far superior then warlocks both in pvp and pve, dont listen to these scrubs. There are far more hunters then warlocks in game and many of them don’t understand the class, if you’re willing to stick with hunter and endure the pain leveling one up it will be rewarding at the end, leveling a hunter is expensive simple because of ammo, mount will come late but at least you can deal with a 36% run speed (with talents).
pve end game dps is usually top 3 depending how you roll stats and weapon/ammo
End game you have vast array of utilities such as tracking, aspects for range/melee especially if you go survival/marks spec, interupts with scatter, fd. Deadzone will be a issue till you learn to kite properly utilizing wing clip, concussion shot, scatter, traps (also snares), flares.
Hunter is a complete solo class, perfecting the class is challenging and not for everyone, except if you just want to solo quest and have some fun go warlock for some boring functions, a free mount for a 1g.

What are you even talking about? Warlocks are a hard counter for Hunters, and do more DPS in AQ40 and Naxx - they also bring very powerful Curses, Healthstones, Soulstones, and summons. Hunters have Tranq Shot and TSA. Warlocks are extremely good, if the player is good.
Hunters are decent in MC/BWL but by AQ40 we are way behind. Our pet doesn’t scale past 60 at all and we scale terribly.

And mage vs lock?
Mage gets beaten by Warlock in PvP, but at all times out-DPS’s them. Their raid utility is far less tedious, you make food/water for people and portals at the end - whereas Warlocks have to log in early and farm soul shards… and also have to mid-raid.
You have no idea how tracking plays a huge roll in PvP do you? Of course not because in retail people don’t even look at it…I played for a competitive pvp guild and also relied on tracking for in comings, strategic movements and in pve it was also great to locate specific targets among crowds increasing questing productivity.
