I have been testing the limits of my hunter (currently level 37) and discovered the many ways you can abuse your poor pet and your feign death skill in instances.
If a instance boss has a couple of adds, you can set up a freezing trap, send in the pet to grab agro on the boss, single target one add, burst it down to half health, it gets frozen, you run away a bit, burst it to zero, feign death (boss resets if your pet is dead by now), then you have the boss and 1 add. Repeat if needed until it is just the boss, then a combination of mend pet and dps and the boss is dead. Feign death to drop threat if the boss does a ability on the pet, or use intimidation.
I never knew you could do so much with a hunter and am now thinking of all of the instances I can farm solo.

Hunter has always been one of the best solo classes in the game for dungeons and raids, they can achieve magical things till dks came along…but this is classic so you can have fun with a lot of hunter mechanics especially with a pet
When ypu get to the UBRS key quest and need to do Emberstrife, you can solo kite him around his circular cave until his health is low enough for the mind control part. Its good practice for the ancient leaf/Rok bow bosses that all involve solo kiting.
Sure a group is faster but if you cant find one or want the satisfaction, this is a fun one on your own.
Lay a trap and wait for the cooldown.
Pull the mob you want to CC.
Lay a 2nd trap as soon as the 1st is frozen.
Move to the opposite side of the fight and snag it as soon as the trap breaks.
Slow and kite for a few seconds until a 3rd trap is ready.
