Hunter Trap bug fix (maybe)

Seems the reason that hunter do not drop combat when using feign death is because you have a target which for some reason puts you back into combat instantly. clear target seems to work

#showtooltip freezing trap
/cleartarget
/cast freezing trap
/petpassive
/cast [combat] feign death
/targetlasttarget

Wouldnt feign death come before freezing trap

Need to spam a trap macro anyways, this seems to work. I use it so my traps combat/no combat are only one keybind. Also can just do it for feign death
/cleartarget
/cast feign death
/targetlasttarget

If you have feign death before freezing trap, when you click your macro it will only cast feign death and keep saying this skill is not ready yet…

/stopattack works as well btw… but freezing trap has to be on a different keybind…

I just dinged 30 and had previously used this macro with /cleartarget in vanilla. Haven’t had a chance to playtest it yet but I don’t think it will fix the spell batching issue

The issue is intermittent. Meaning sometimes people say FD drops combat in 1.5s, sometimes it’s 3s, etc. I have not heard of many people saying it’s instant anymore, macro or not

#Showtooltip Freezing Trap
/stopattack [mod:shift]
/use [mod:shift,combat]!Feign Death
/petpassive [mod:shift]
/petfollow [mod:shift]
/stopcasting [mod:shift]
/use [mod:shift]!Freezing Trap
/stopcasting
/use Freezing Trap

This macro actually works, use regular keybind for freezing trap, hold shift to FD/trap. Works better than the others due to the mod:shift double cast with the no mod freeze trap cast and the /stopcasting interrupt.

Also, if you jump right before hitting it (make sure jump has its secondary keybind as shift+spacebar) and hold shift, you can hit the keybind mid air and as soon as you hit the ground you will FD and instantly trap. Jumping and then hitting the macro a few times while mid air will give your pet a slight bit of time delay on leaving combat before the FD/Trap part of the macro kicks in as soon as you hit the ground.

I believe /cleartarget is safer than stopcasting when it comes to dropping combat. Could be wrong though, as I haven’t tested beyond vanilla

I tried literally hundreds of variations yesterday for hours. Ones that I had with /cleartarget did not work as well as the one I posted above.

Absolute Champion! That is working so well …

I manually did these during combat in SM…

-recall pet
-press escape
-feign death
-then drink water

Sometimes, it put me out of combat and I was able to drink. But sometimes, I still couldnt drink becoz I was still in combat. And this is not a macro. How would it work on macro if the manual micro to get out of combat is not working?

Would this be the same for Immolation trap after FD you think?

Also can you change it to not require shift and just be spammable.

I honestly think the shift modifier is what is making it work, the unmodified freezing trap at the end gets triggered on shift too after the shift modified trap trigger. I don’t know why but for some reason this makes it work. I tried removing the shift modifiers and it didn’t work as well.

Yeah, you could just replace freezing trap for any other and it should work the same.
