Hunter things

Hi all,

Would love to read your opinions on the following questions:

1. How useful are Hunters to a team? What are the things in Hunter’s toolkit that may save your teammate’s life?
I cannot get off the thought that if I’m a DPS-only class, I’m sort of less useful than those who can off-heal or kite efficiently, etc. while still being a DPS, which creates a struggle between me loving the Hunter playstyle and a need to feel useful.

2. Hunters are easy to get into, that’s why they are a go-to for newbies. Then, what parts are challenging to master?
Those points, that not every hunter would be able to execute well.

3. What can you point out about people’s perception towards Hunters in the game?
Anything, doesn’t matter good or bad, simply your observations.

Thanks in advance to those who will reply

Which content are you interested in?

Because Hunters fare pretty differently in BGs vs arenas vs M+ vs raids…

I’m interested in everything tbh. If you could tell your opinion on how different Hunters are in different kind of content, that’d be awesome

I can save my teammates a lot in arena. Good peels and Roar of Sacrifice can turn the tide of close games.

  1. As useful as a Mage. It’s a very similar toolkit. In PVE, good DPS and not screwing up > utility. My advice is this: play what you find fun and don’t worry about acceptance in groups. Group acceptance is guaranteed when you are the organizer (push your own keys, be the raid organizer, etc…).

  2. Nearly every dps spec is easy to get into and difficult to master. Mastery with BM is mainly a matter of maintaining Frenzy stacks on your pet and in AOE maintaining Beast Cleave on your pet. These are buffs on your pet and will not appear in your buff bar and they are not visible without using an addon. MM requires you to think 1-2 steps ahead in your rotation because you are making decisions between using spenders or generators based on a rapidly fluctuating resource pool.

  3. Ignore anyone who trashes hunters. Ignore anyone who thinks hunters are great. Play one and decide for yourself if you like it. Think critically. Demand evidence. Think for yourself

My pet can taunt in dungeons, and if the tank dies, I can pull the mobs to Tallahasse and back without getting hit!

I guess lust too but usually if there’s a mage or shaman in the group, they will lust because hunters need to have/get out a lust pet and their lust is just a button.
