Hunter Rifles with bayonets that don’t work? No way to melee with them. So what was the point off putting a useless bayonet on a rifle? I don’t get it?

I really don’t like the gun design in WoW. I’m biased: I prefer using firearms as opposed to bows. Crossbows sometimes but a lot of those are also not great design wise.
Be it the oversized scopes, heavily impractical bayonets or just being bulky oversized messes. Alternatively they look like they came straight out of a Halo ripoff.
Why not just a reasonably designed shotgun? Or a revolver? I’m not asking for tacticool nightmares that people use for real firearms but something that makes sense? There is beauty in simplicity after all.

See I love the look of it, it’s just the weird over-under design and the gigantic bayonet that kills it for me. If it was just a sleek single barrel revolver-rifle I think it’d perfect.
I get it’s fantasy and ‘over the top’ is a common theme but I dunno. Just feel like most ranged weapons are flat out overdone.
