Hunter range/deadzone change?

Im wondering if maybe in the future the devs could look into eliminating the range/dead zone for hunters. what with strange hit boxes of some bosses either being the size of a pin head and the mob is huge (which isnt too bad as ranged) but then sometimes the hit box being huge and not being able to hit anything the boss twitches and then im in the deadzone or mele area.
This gets frustrating as we have to move and re position which means we lose our sniper training buff.
Also while on the subject can we have an ammo type that’s like a libram please, im not too bothered about buying ammo all the time but would be nice not to!

The deadzone is the most annoying thing about playing a hunter in classic; its what pushed me more towards just going melee hunter now that they’re competitive with ranged again. Could you imagine the tears though from the PvPers? They already lose their minds over how hard they hit, even when they’re easy to counter by just deadzoning them. If that was taken away… :joy:

Yeah man, it’s so easy to deadzone a hunter after I slow them for 50% while they spam out a trap that can root me multiple times and also slows me by 60%.

Cope harder, blizzard made it where hunters don’t have to be good at kiting or positioning to do their insane damage, all of it should get nerfed.

Lol, no. Its an important quirk of the class…

Eliminate the dead zone; May as well then eliminate the hunter mana pool and give them energy at 5 energy per sec (50% of a rogue) make every special shot cost 40+ energy and at that point just play cata or retail

If you’re still getting outplayed by entrapment after they shredded it with the DR changes…idk what to tell you lol. Even then, entrapment cant proc if you just juke the trap…I do it all the time against other hunters. if you juke their traps, you get no slow, no entrapment, no lock n load proc for them to hit you with back to back chimeras/aimed shots. Sounds like a pretty big skill issue tbh. Not saying they don’t hit hard, but there is certainly ways to counter them.

Im a hunter purist and eliminating deadzone will just dumb down the class. They have many tools to gain range.

“Outplayed” by an rng proc. Just juke the trap right? Just don’t get into melee range of the hunter if they stand directly on top of it you mean?

Hunters didn’t exactly have issues landing traps when they had to FD for them, what makes you think it’s some impossible art with trap launchers?

The counter to hunter right now as a warrior is to just be so much better than them that you dodge every trap and never give them range. Because every time they get the distance to cast it’s a Chimera that hits for the same damage as your entire kit. Sometimes more. That’s not what anyone would consider reasonable counterplay by the way.

But I wouldn’t expect that kind of awareness from people who are suddenly doing well on a class for the first time and “surely I’m just really good now, it’s totally not my class being overtuned and broken”

Warbringer.

Also has an 8 yard deadzone. But I know it’s a big ask to expect bad pvper’s to actually abuse that.

Meathook. :slightly_smiling_face:

35 second cd, charge is 15s, intercept is 30 (25 with pvp set bonus). Hamstring and piercing howl are 50% slows, frost trap is 60% and can rng root. Warrior also on average hits for like 10% of your damage on nearly every ability. I’m not sure how you think you have an argument here? Just press scatter put down your slow trap and kite around it.

I’ve hit 200 damage BT’s on hunters in random gear. A hunter wearing level 50 wardens/pvp items chimera’d me for 1300.

Sounds like you’ve got a lot of utility! And excuses

Same to you huntard. Why don’t you use your range and never let the warrior within 25 yards so they can’t charge you in the first place?

Honestly just sounds like you are mad, so I’ll leave you with a “GG”.

Sounds like you’re massively skill issued and coping. GG.

he does not understand his own class, how can he understand warrior mechanics if he’s so bad that he does not even know you can prevent charge in the first place.

There’s a lot of people playing the insanely busted specs of SoD that really think it’s their own skill that has them dominating bg’s for the first time in their lives.

Yup, its like back in the day when I beat every single melee in PVP because I was playing a shadow priest… It ain’t hard to understand why if you’re not a complete idiot.

I love my Era hunter and its 100% weaker than SOD version.

I feel like era hunter vs war was fairly balanced. Maybe slightly warrior favored? I remember a few of the better hunters giving me problems but it wasn’t a class I did practice duels on pservers between queues so it couldn’t have been as 1 sided as rogue or mage where I felt like I needed to know and practice every situation.
