Which pet should I bring into raids? Just leveled an alt and never raided with one. I tamed a son of hakkar but I get mixed into on pets. Thanks
Serpent or Wolf is what you should bring if you want to max your pet DPS. Wolf also brings group utility (in the form of a group wide dps buff), but serpent tends to edge out more personal damage.

Note that serpent will get even better once ZG is released (new rank of lightning breath becomes available).
Yeah I use the white serpent from ST as one of my PvE pets. He’s awesome.
I forget if the son of hakkar you got is the same one or a different one, just make sure you have the max rank of Lightning Breath on him and he’ll do great.

cat every day of the week, wind serpent? really? nature damage in mc? no, just no. Wolf is only to buff melee.
Either Wolf to buff melee DPS or a cat for higher personal DPS.

Having never raided even back in the day, do the melee pets (cat, wolf) not get nuked by AoE? or can you predict them and pull them back before they get nuked?
This is why I always read that serpents are great and wolves are good simply because they sit there and buff you.
This is a true question, as I really don’t know.
