Hunter question

Want to make a hunter, but deciding between a night elf and a dwarf
Don’t really want to do human hunter since that is my BFA main
I’m bad at decision making

First, human isn’t an option.

NE - slight agility bonus
Dwarf - gun specialization and stone form

Dwarf may have a bit of an edge, but I’m currently playing an NE (mostly because I’ve already played as dwarf and I want to see if I can get a FD - Shadowmeld macro to work).

Stoneform gives Dorf Hunters a major edge against Rogues (i.e. Crippling Poison, Blind).

Shadowmeld is much more subtle and varied in its applications, but Shadowmeld + Cat pet grants Fruit Elf Hunters unmatched strategic positioning.

He said a Human is his BFA main

Lol, no need to worry about Human … they can’t make a Hunter in Classic, that came with Cataclysm

But apart from that Nightelf is a good choice, Shadowmeld is a very good thing, you could go Horde fishing … Get a low Level Pet … turn on PvP, go to The Barrens, Shadowmeld … pet out … wait til a Low Horde Player attacks it and flaggs himself … then you come out of Shadowmeld and melt him

Or go Dwarf, Stoneskin lets you remove all the Nastyness Warlocks tent to put on Players in PvP, including the Bleeds from Warriors and Feral Druids.

Both are good Choices … in PvP Nightelf could let you stand around somewhere, in Shadowmeld … which can be very useful.
I personally love the Dwarves Stoneskin as Rogue … since in Vanilla Vanish didn’t clear off DoTs … so as Dwarf you can first wash yourself … then Vanish(who said Dwarfs are dirty? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:).

Hello, I like ne just because they are the coolest alliance class!

Wasn’t paying attention that humans couldn’t be. Was at work when I typed this up haha

Personally, I like Dwarf Hunter for Alliance. Only for the reason that it’s literally the first race/class you see in the Vanilla trailer.

But for pure utility, NE does have Shadowmeld and that beats out Stoneform IMO.

I might be misunderstanding here (apologies if so) but what the person who replied meant was that Humans can’t be Hunters in Classic.

My decision has now been made harder. Both abilities sound good so now it’s just down to astetic

Dwarf, I think you’ll have an easier time when you’re attacked…especially by rogues. Night elf, you’ll have an easier time getting a sneak attack in.

For large scale pvp/group pve, I don’t think it will matter–go purely with aesthetics. Skinny, tall and purple, or short, muscular…and human toned?

You can get dark(ish) skinned/red eyed as an option.

NE gets an extra dodge, making inproved monkeyform even more OP if specced. We alsi get shadowmeld, which is nice in situations. (Like going afk too) and then we get extra agility which in the long run is better than dwarfs for pve. I dont think stone form is very neccessary since if someone is in your deadzone you are dead anyways.

Bow ends up winning over guns late game so the dwarf hit chance is null at max level unless he has a good gun and needs an even better bow.

Also NE starts in darnassus and has an easy pathing access to SW and IF.

Imo ne looks better too.

Idk what content you wish to join, but aren’t the best weapons in game bows? Night elves look better in those.

I think the raid tier ranged weapons are generally (not always) crossbows, so no advantage there.

Before raiding, the combination of Flawless Arcanite Rifle (+4 guns) and the Dwarven gun specialization is pretty good.

Where do you get that item?

dwarf is technically superior imo. shadow meld is pretty situational when compared with stone form. that said, i rolled my same exact night elf as i did in vanilla.

The Flawless Arcanite Rifle is crafted by engineers.
