As hunter mains, and hunter forums
I’m looking for a new class to play, leveled a hunter in remix. How is the hunter as class going into TWW? Survival hunter mostly, for pve and pvp, dungeons and raiding
I’m just curious how has hunter been feeling to play?
Too early. If you’ve seen the hero class report, it’s not good.
If you don’t mind bringing up the rear as someone who’s still stuck in 2022, I’d give it two thumbs up. You’re picking up a 2022 car/truck that after a factory recall, seems to drive and handle decently well.
All three specs are solid pre-TWW picks. May I ask why would you be interested in an “older” class? Maybe you don’t like all the champagne flashy chicas today. Yeah, everything seems fine, just old.
Ignore the idiot, sv is very fun to play so far in beta, bm and mm are pretty similiar to the df versions and not as engaging as sv in my opinion. In terms of viability for pve and pvp depends on final tuning but unless you’re going for the very very top spec doesn’t matter just have fun.

You then proceed to basically say the same thing. BM and MM are virtually the same. It’s too early to really say.
The only thing you added was that SV is very fun to play which is entirely subjective.

OP, if you’re not familiar with Hunter then you could thoroughly enjoy it. The biggest pain point is for existing Hunter players who are seeing everyone else play with their shiny new Hero Powers and Hunter is stuck with arguable the worst ones.
Hunter and Rogue are fighting over who has the worst Hero Powers. Is that a fight we really want to be having? lol
I’ll put it to you like this. If Dark Ranger OR Sentinel OR Pack Leader was HALF DECENT I’d be playing Hunter in TWW.
None of them are half decent. They’re all bad.

Except for the whole thing about a 2022 truck which makes no sense since sv is quite different in tww compared to 2022 which is what SL?.

What’s worse is that Mists and Warlords down the Classic line is going to be super-super-serieuxly competitive. Hunter mains from back in the day have the burden of historical knowledge, and if TWW turns out to be total dogdoo Mists and SoD is just right there as far superior modes to main Hunter.
Even Cata SV knocks it out of the park right now in the Zuls with Barrow and L&L Explosive Shots.
This is only talking about maining Hunter. One can still play TWW, but to main a Hunter in that? I don’t see the big obstacle in just doing Firelands as a Hunter main there and doing w/e as a non-Hunter main in TWW stuff.
There shouldn’t even be a fight when historically, Rogues have outdone Hunters in many expansions. That’s a class-to-class thing.
Even if Rogues have the worse hero powers, they’ll still be better. Because as some have said that I would agree, hero classes do not eclipse class/specs…or will they?
If the Rogue general tree and their spec trees are better than the Hunter general/spec trees, Rogues are going to win.
So I guess it goes now like this to determine who gets the win in a 1:1 setup:
Class>spec>hero class>comp>gear>skill.
Two SVs go off against each other in a duel. Same ilvl, same skill, so it’s either Pack Leader or Sentinel that clutches it. That’s going to be tough because Pack Leader is rumored to be the meta, even though Sentinel is quite decent.
And of course if Fatebound/Trickster/Deathstalker are better in weight than PL/SNTL/DKR, then we’re all screwed for sure.
I probably should have said 2023 since it was late in 2022. 10.0 was live in Oct 2022 and that’s when the best post-Leg itineration of SV was discontinued. However, not before too long it’ll be 2025, and chances are, without any immediate plans to REWORK the HUNTER HERO CLASS TALENTS, you’re still going to be stuck driving a “two-year-old” vehicle, potentially a salvage titled one at that…
The point remains is that choosing Hunter agnostic of spec is literally going back to 10.0 and the way the talents were all supposed to be. My argument hasn’t changed that the 20-month talent rework we waited on, should have been the same as what we got live in November 2022.

You wonder why the class has gone to scat when people who choose winners are called idiots. This doesn’t really escape Blizzard’s attention; they know the successes from the failures in the community. To call me an idiot is pretty much calling Blizzard an idiot to their face. So they make the entire class scatty on purpose, to the point where mitosis is needed to save it…
It’s why I would have nothing to do with you or your boyfriends by the way. I actually want to be successful, and so do a great many others.
Because lot of the players on this forum seem to not understand that tuning will be happening even after launch and that picking a class based on numbers is a terrible thing.
How a class feels is more important than the numbers because with time tuning will address that.
