Hunter PvP

Is anyone else having a rough time in PvP as a hunter? I feel my cc breaks crazy fast and my feign death/trap only works maybe 1 our of 3 times? My damage seems alright but I can’t get away from any classes because my CC just breaks after a few quick seconds. No it’s not serpent sting lol. I don’t remember it being like this in vanilla, anyone else feeling the same way?

I do not. We have good matchups and bad matchups as well as theaters, but overall I feel like hunter is pretty baller in PvP.

The new PVP trinket lets player break any kind of cc, with a lengthy cooldown. You only have to be honor rank 2 to get it, so that’s why you’re seeing CC break faster and more often.

That’s not authentic vanilla experience. Back in the day class pvp trinks did certain things. Like wars pvp trink didn’t get you out of stun just immobilizing effects. Rogue pvp trink couldn’t get out of stun. Yada yada yada ect ect

I thought it was emulating on here too? I thought certain classes don’t have a full CC immunity trinkets? Am I wrong?

I’m not sure I didn’t read my pvp trink lol I just knew it got me out of stun, fear and Polly. But I did notice I couldn’t trink gouge and maybe sap I gotta check next time I’m on

Every class trinket is different, they all have 3 effects on them. Druid is stun fear and charm i think.

Maybe. But hunter trink does not break fear effects

Viper sting ANYTHING that uses mana, never use serpent at all really. After scatter feign right away, wait a full second till you see trap become available. Pet is always passive. Don’t forget about warrior dead zone. With rogue, flare on CD. Make sure to have imp wing clip and surefooted.

I would use pig pet for charge or spider for root. Lay traps and kite like the wind. Always slap concussion shot on target. Scatter shot when they’re in melee range. And for the love of God remove aspect of cheetah before you take damage

Macv spiders dont have to root. That was introduced in bc i believe.

Yes I am finding pvp to be a bit harder. The FD trap is not as reliable as it used to be. I never had to put pet passive into a macro. But now you need to. Also sometimes you have to wait a second which feels like eternity. All our ccs share diminishing returns. Which i remember blizzard doing this back in the day because it was such a nerf.

Also the increased deadzone while you are running. It is not 8 yards but 11 yards while you are moving. Add in the melee leeway that we didn’t notice back in the day because of lag that is totally noticeable today. Basically lets melee users attack us while we are able to shoot them.

All these things combined make hunters not the kitings kings of old.

I agree with most of this. I feel like the majority of fd trap problems come from your pet. When getting ready to fd trap, put your pet to passive a second or so before.
