Just got my first ever Hunter to lvl 70. I want to level to 80 with war mode on. What spec is the “better/best” for PvP? Thanks!

MM is currently completely dominating. expect some tuning though.

Yeah would have to agree with MM. Just leveling up in early release fighting people here and there then i did one epic bg. You will delete people, is fun. But like said above, you can bet there will be a tuning pass coming.

As a MM player since cata, I can say that MM is at least always fun even if its sometimes not the best. Howerver its usually the best for pvp, especially for wpvp. I dont always use sniper shot, but it should be extremely useful for wpvp or BGs.
Not I’m not sure about sentinel or dark ranger because my main is lvl 71 only and I havent tested them for pvp, but sentinel looks great for burst. I might go dark ranger for the idea/feel of it though.

MM isnt the greatest spec for pvp, but is viable, much more viable than BM.

MM is absolutely destroying in PvP right now so idk what you’re talking about. Expect nerfs.

Its a Flag carry or spin flags as a healer or tank meta, and a steal areas as a rogue or druid meta. MM can do damage, and is a decent jack of all trades. But you cant win a 1vs1 vs many specs like Blood DK and BM monk. Its like Blizzard wants us to all do the dps job on a tank spec. There was just a youtube video published that showed a BM monk can kill a dps in 4 seconds on beta with everyone involved in conquest gear.

MM has insane damage and CC. You can top damage charts pretty easily, and once you get good with your kit you can handle a lot of 1v1 and 1vX encounters. Super easy to get started with and has room to grow.
SV demands a bit more from you to use effectively but is also quite strong and extremely fun.
I haven’t played BM on my Hunter, but from what I hear it’s not doing too hot at the moment.
