Hello
Are there any guides out there to which pets should be tamed from each pet spec (ferocity, tenacity, and cunning). I just want a few pets i can tame easily right off the bat in shadowlands from this list ( including bm exotic) just to get me started.
Not looking for rare pets. Just enough for each specialization.
Don’t know about any guides. However, based on my experience, the best pets to use are:
Solo Tanking
Clefthoof (BM)
Scalehide (Non-BM)
PvP
Raptor, Hyena, or Rodent (Cunning with Mortal Wounds)
BM can use Aquiri (Silithid) as it gets both a slow and a speed boost to stay on it’s target.
Dungeons/Raids
Any Ferocity pet as it provides a Bloodlust effect if you are in a group without any class that has a Bloodlust ability (mainly in dungeons). You can just use your tank pet if you want.
BM can use Spirit Beasts for either if the group has a Bloodlust effect. Other Tenacity pets are probably not going to hurt you in lower level dungeons either.
Special mention
BM should get a Water Strider for water walking.

Petopia-wow . com is a great resource for pets.
For the absolute minimum effort, assuming you boosted a hunter to 60 and want quick slots in the stable:
Cunning pet: any raptor
Tenacity: you’ll probably want a spirit beast if bm, quickest one to grab that’s always garunteed to be up is the cat myonix (suramar in the broken isle, just follow the river north of the flight point at meredil)
Ferocity pet: up to you, if you want an exotic Devilsaur you can pick both a raptor and a devilsaur up in the ruins of xibala which is the alliance entry port in zuldazar. otherwise a wolf from elwynn forest will do or a cat from stranglethorn/ardenweald. for solo content like torghast you’ll probably want a rhino/clefthoof, quickest way is to head to nagrand in draenor/outland, they’re all over the place.
special flavour pets:
water strider (gives you water walking); can be found in suramar in the water north of suramar city, can grab when you’re out there for myonix.
feathermane (gives you slow fall): there’s no quick way to grab a feathermane because you can’t learn how until you completely finish your legion order hall, which is like a solid afternoon of questing. you can grab one of the bird-horses or winged lions from bastion once you have, tho.
